Iga Świątek maintained her leading position in the latest world ranking of tennis players. The Polish woman increased her advantage over her most dangerous rival, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, to 645 points.

The charge of coach Tomasz Wiktorowski is the first on the WTA list from April 4, 2022.

Świątek won the WTA 250 tournament in Warsaw on Sunday, which allowed her to slightly increase the distance to Sabalenka. Previously, the tennis players were separated by 470 points.

Magda Linette maintained 25th place in the ranking. The next two Polish women recorded declines – Magdalena Fręch moved from 79th to 80th place, and Katarzyna Kawa from 255th to 257th. Weronika Falkowska went up two positions to 277th place. Maja Chwalińska suffered the biggest losses from the white-and-red team, by as much as 46 positions – a drop to 405th place.

In the WTA Race ranking, which will select the eight best tennis players of 2023 – participants of the season-ending WTA Finals tournament, Świątek is still in second place; only Sabalenka is ahead of her, the difference between them has decreased to 490 points.
