LPGA Tour winner In Gee Chun made a hole-in-one on the 154-yard, par-3 5th hole on Sunday in the final round of the U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links, her second ace of the 2023 LPGA Tour season and second in a major championship this year. The first came at The Chevron Championship when she holed out on the 164-yard, par-3 17th hole in the third round.
In honor of Chun’s hole-in-one, CME will make a $20,000 donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as part of their CME Group Cares Challenge – Score 1 for St. Jude campaign. The Challenge is a season-long charitable giving program that turns aces into donations with a minimum guaranteed donation of $500,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is leading the way in how the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and life-threatening diseases.
Chun’s hole-in-one is the seventh of this season, raising the 2023 donation total to $140,000. She’s the only player to have recorded two aces so far this year.
