The Independent National Electoral Commission’s sensitive and non-sensitive materials arrived in Kwara for the February 25 presidential election, with the electoral body pledging to conduct a free, fair, and credible poll.

The resident electoral commissioner, Attahiru Madami, disclosed this to journalists on Sunday in Ilorin.

According to him, all sensitive and non-sensitive materials have been received and kept safely at the state’s Central Bank of Nigeria office.

He said all uncollected PVCs would be returned to the CBN office while the various political parties and other stakeholders would be invited to the apex bank to inspect all the electoral materials.

The REC added that ballot papers and result sheets would be examined before they were distributed and transported to the local government areas.

Mr Madami said all representatives of 17 of the 18 registered political parties participating in the election in the state would sign another Peace Accord on February 22 at the INEC headquarters in Ilorin.

The INEC official urged the contestants, their supporters and all concerned stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully and accept the election’s outcome in good faith.

He promised that INEC would continue to maintain its neutral and unbiased position.

Mr Madami stated that the commission has entered into a strong and functional synergy with all security agencies in the state for peace to reign and for the protection of all electoral materials.
