Israeli death toll from Hamas attacks reaches 1,200, with at least 2,700 wounded
An Israeli military spokesperson said Wednesday that the death toll from the surprise attack by Hamas militants on Israel has now reached 1,200 people, with at least 2,700 more wounded.
Lt. Col. (Res.) Jonathan Conricus, international spokesperson for Israel Defense Forces, said the stark rise in the death toll is from the discovery of new bodies, not from the ongoing fighting.
“That is not because there’s ongoing fighting an Israelis continue to be butchered by Hamas terrorists,” Conricus said. “It is because now, as the time has gone by, we are discovering bodies of dead Israelis in the various communities that Hamas infiltrated, and where they conducted their massacres.”
The IDF said early Wednesday that dozens of Israeli Air Force fighter jets have conducted airstrikes on about 450 targets in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.
According to numbers Tuesday from the Gaza Health Ministry, at least 900 people in the Gaza Strip have been killed in Israel’s counterattacks, including 260 children, and about 4,500 more people wounded.
