Draymond Green once again lit up the NBA world when he was ejected from Tuesday night’s Warriors-Suns game in the second quarter after drawing a flagrant 2 foul.
Green’s on-court antics is just one of the Warriors’ issues this season, ESPN NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins believes. He immediately went to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his opinion on the Warriors, and specifically on what guard Stephen Curry should do.
“Free Steph Curry!!! He don’t deserve this. Real Talk.”
Perkins was asked to elaborate on this tweet on Wednesday, in which he detailed various examples as to what’s been wrong with the Warriors. Just in the past 24 hours, there’s been headlines about Green’s ejection, Klay Thompson’s contract discussions and Andrew Wiggins’s motivation to play this season.
Perkins wants to see Curry showcase his talents without all this outside noise around him.
“Free him from all the B.S. that’s around him,” Perkins said on NBA Today. “Steph don’t deserve this. Steph is giving us great basketball. Steph has more great basketball to give us.
“We cannot waste Steph Curry’s valuable time while he’s still here.”
For what it’s worth, Curry has stated multiple times that he wants to retire in a Warriors jersey, and the franchise obviously has the same intention.
Curry and the Warriors, however, need to turn their season around before it’s too late.
