The Kwara State Government has reinstated its commitment to the welfare of state retirees.

The State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said this on Tuesday at the fourth send forth for retired permanent secretaries in Kwara State Civil Service at the Banquet Hall, Ilorin.

Represented by his Deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, the state governor thanked the retired permanent secretaries for their quality and purposeful contribution to government programmes.

AbdulRazaq added that as experienced personnel from different fields, the former permanent secretaries should see themselves as statesmen who could be consulted by the state on governance.

Governor AbdulRazaq therefore urged the former civil servants to consider documenting their experiences for posterity.

Earlier in her welcome remarks, the Kwara State Head of Service, Mrs Susan Modupe Oluwole admonished the retired permanent secretaries to continue to deploy their skills, experiences and management acumen to adding value to themselves, and the state.

Mrs Oluwole appreciated the retired permanent secretaries for their exemplary service and outstanding contribution to governance.

Responding on behalf of the retired permanent secretaries, Alhaji Tajudeen Adebayo Yinusa expressed profound appreciation to the Kwara State Government and the civil service for the honour shown them and assured that they will be available to render their assistance when needed.
