Lagos EHOAN Charges Officers to Ensure Clean, Safe Environment

In order to have clean, safe and sustainable environment, the Lagos State Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN) has charged officers on GL 07 and 08 to be proactive, dedicated and be up and doing to their duty.

The State President of the association, San. Dr. Akinyele Cyril Babasope, gave the charge in his opening address at a One-Day Seminar held at the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Secretariat Hall.

San. Babasope, encouraged participants to take full advantage of the training for personal growth and professional development.

The Lagos State EHOAN President, emphasized the importance of equipping officers with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct effective premises inspections, reporting, follow up on inspected premises, and maintain proper records in Environmental Health.

The first presentation, ” *Process of Premises Inspection* ,” was delivered by San. Taiwo Awonuga A., National Chairman and First Vice Chairman of the West Africa Postgraduate College of Environmental Health (WAPCEH). He provided deep insights into the technical and professional aspects of premises inspections.

The second and third presentations were conducted by San. Moshood Olusegun, Deputy Director of Environmental Health Services, and San. Marcus Olorunwa, Chairman of the Research and Education Development Committee. They covered “Reporting and Follow-up on Premises Inspection” and “The Importance of Record-Keeping in Environmental Health,” respectively.

At the end of the training, participants were awarded Certificates of Attendance as proof of their participation.

In his closing remarks, the State President urged all participants to apply the knowledge gained and uphold the highest standards as ambassadors of the profession in their daily activities.

The seminar, titled “Rudiments of Premises Inspection in Environmental Health,” was organized by EHOAN, Lagos, for Environmental Health Officers on Grade Level 07 and 08 across the state.
