Two women were reportedly killed on Saturday when lightning struck the FESTAC area of Lagos State.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the state’s Police Public Relation confirmed the development in a tweet on Saturday, saying the unfortunate acident occurred during the rain on Friday.
“Somewhere on First Avenue, FESTAC, two women remained indoors during the downpour yesterday.
“Lightning struck, electrocuting them instantly and causing a fire outbreak,” he said.
He, however, added that the victims resided in a shack erected beneath high-voltage cables as he expressed sympathy for the deceased and wished that their souls rest in peace.
