Mike Trout is ‘somebody who’s got a lot of tools’ as per former US President Barack Obama. Unfortunately for ‘Prince Fish’, he can’t always use these tools to fulfill his dreams in the sporting world. Known for being one of the best baseball center fielders in the world today, Trout also harbors a deep passion for proving his excellence in golf. So much so that he’s invested millions of dollars in doing so, but apparently money isn’t the problem.

The 11 times MLB All-Star enjoys his beloved golf when not on the baseball field. To add to such a die-hard addiction to the craft, Trout is making his very own golf course at his home under the guidance of legend Tiger Woods. But it’s not free of challenges, and Trout discussed it during a recent interview with his fellow MLB All-Star, Mookie Betts.

After baseball, Trout’s next athletic love lies in golf, as he thoroughly enjoys spending time on the greens. However, because of the long MLB season and a short off period, Trout has little time for his other favorite sport. A few weeks ago, Trout appeared as a guest on the show “On Base with Mookie Betts.” The two baseball stars conversed about many things, including Trout’s love for golf, related challenges, and his dream project.

Planned to be designed and completed with the help of Tiger Woods, Trout Reserve is the baseball star’s dream golf course in Vineland. Per courierpostonline.com, it is part of the Magic Sports Complex to be built at around $350 million. Initially planned in 2012, nothing much has materialized, but Trout could bring this to life with his golf project.

Sharing details on his golf course project, Trout said, “It was pretty cool because I played a lot of great golf courses. And I get to figure out like, Hey, I like this. I don’t like that. I love being out on a golf course not seeing houses, I think. Okay. So I think just putting little things like that into a course and making it like your own.”

While addressing the challenges in pursuing his dream, Trout added, “I mean, yeah. Honestly, I wish I…obviously during the season, you know, all seasons I’m involved a lot because there are a lot of meetings every day. During the season, it’s tough.” Later during the discussion, Mike and Mookie engaged in a fantastic commentary on different athletes’ swings. The MLB star shared some intriguing insights on the techniques that some famous athletes use.

Betts is quite the avid golfer himself, and his knowledge of the sport shows in his discussion with Trout. After chatting about the unique friendship between Woods and Trout, the two players take a look at different Top Golf athletes. Starting with the Angels player, the baseball duo critiques his form.

From NFL’s Patrick Mahomes and soccer’s Alex Morgan to Serena Williams and LeBron James, Betts, and Trout have fun analyzing everyone’s swings. The baseballers hilariously poke fun at James and Mahomes’ techniques, but it’s all in jest.

Speaking on Mahomes’ swing, Betts seems to belittle the NFL icon’s swings to which Trout hilariously retorts, “that’s not his golf swing” pointing out that he was hitting moving balls rapid fire, something Betts didn’t seem to notice. On Alex Morgan’s swing, Trout seemingly impressed remarked, “that’s not terrible, that’s not bad” he later found himself chuckling at the soccer players post-swing dance moves.

Up next was Serena Williams, Betts automatically presumed she would be good at it because of her athletic prowess. Trout however was quick to point out that she had a reverse grip “is her hands wrong? somebody chips like that on the tour, that’s reverse hands”. Finally, we came to ‘The King’ Lebron James, Betts hilariously said, “Love him to death but that’s a bad swing.” Well now we know if their baseball careers somehow don’t pan out, golf analysis is right up their alley.
