Archaeologists exhumed a lavish 1,200- time-year estate in Israel’s desert south that offers a unique regard of life for fat residers of the Negev region, the country’s agedness authority said Tuesday.
The discovery in the Bedouin city of Rahat dates to the early Islamic period in the 8th or 9th century, the authority said.
The luxury home is erected around a yard and features four bodies with several apartments for its residers.
One lavish section features a marble hallway with gravestone bottoms and elaborate wall decorations.
Archaeologists also set up shards of decorated glass serving dishes.
Under the yard, archaeologists were surprised to discover subsurface vaults made of gravestone, which they believe were used to store particulars at cooler temperatures down from the scorching desert sun.
The vaults appear to be precisely constructed and sturdy enough to allow people to move between them underground.
An opening from the bounded apartments also leads to a barrel where residers could pierce cool drinking water.
Experts say the manse’s possessors likely lived a life of substance and had plenitude to go around.“
The luxurious estate and the unique emotional underground vaults are substantiation of the possessors ’ means,” said the excavation directors in a statement.“
Their high status and wealth allowed them to make a luxurious manse that served as a hearthstone and for amusing.”
