It was a prayer galore at the Ministry to Cooperatives and Empowerment held today where the ministry ushered in new year 2025 with annual inter-religious prayer.
The event, attended by top religious leaders, political functionaries, top civil servants and other members of staff of the ministry witnessed several cycles of prayers for the commissioner, his team and the entire ministry for the achievements recorded in the outgone year 2025 and the new year.
One after the other, Islamic and Christian clerics rolled out prayers for the many good things happening in the ministry under Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe and followed it up with fervent prayers to God for the achievements recorded in 2025 and beyond.
The staff of the ministry showered encomiums on the commissioner for the achievements recorded in the ministry through his open door policies and accountability, adding that the commissioner prioritised welfare of staff.
They declared that the good delivery of services by the commissioner and his team has ordained him by God, urging mass support for continuation of better life in the ministry.
They commended the commissioner for his good work amidst singing and dancing, citing his expensive attention to the needs of workers in the ministry.
The staff prayed to God to continue to strengthen the commissioner in his ongoing good performance, drumming support for the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Also, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Cooperatives and Empowerment, Hon. Durojaye Isaac, eulogised the commissioner for his tireless and unrelenting efforts in taking the ministry to a greater height, adding that the best interest of the ministry has continued to be the commissioner’s guiding principle, stressing that all hands must be on deck to achieve more.
The commissioner in his address to the staff, urged staff of the ministry to dedicate more to their duty and support Governor Ademola Adeleke for second term, saying the Governor puts God and the people as a point of take off and return.
“I want to urge you not to allow people to deceive you with peanut. I want to admonish you to vote for Adeleke for second term. Vote for good government which this government represents. Our dear God has blessed us in the last one year. We recorded a superlative performance which even our opponents cannot deny.
“The Governor, since assumption of office never received security vote with a view to develop the state. The Governor has the interest of the state at heart. Let’s support him to continue his good work”, the commissioner said.
He called on members of staff to rally round the present administration in its efforts to enthrone good governance and consolidate on present achievements.
The commissioner was presented with Crason Award as the best commissioner of the year.
