A combination of surprise and shock is still characterizing the results of the Last Saturday’s elections into the National Assembly released by the Independent National Assembly.
While some camps are savouring their victory at the polls, there is disquiet in others
In Edo State, a former governor of the state and ex-national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was declared winner of the senatorial election for Edo North.
According to INEC, Oshiomhole defeated incumbent Senator Francis Alimekhena of the PDP by 107, 110 votes to 55, 344 votes.
In edo Central, Monday Okpebholo scored 41, 334 votes to defeat LP and PDP with 32,574 votes and 25,225 votes respectively. It was the first time PDP will lose the seat in the district.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Femi Agbalajobi secured the mandate of his constituents in Surulere Federal Constituency Lagos State for another four years. He polled 10,717 votes as against Mr Bolaji Jeje of PDP), who had 5, 121 votes.
In Ekiti, incumbent Senator Biodun Olujinmi (PDP) lost to Yemi Adaramodu (APC) by 63189 votes as against 36051 votes for Ekiti South. But Senator Opeyemi Bamidele scored 69,351 votes as against 26181 votes recorded by Lateef Adegbite (PDP to retain his seat for Ekiti Central.
Former Governor Orji Uzo Kalu of Abia State also secured a fresh mandate to represent Abia north with 86 votes as against two votes and one vote scored by PDP and LP.
For Ogun East, former Governor Gbenga Daniel won with 115, 147 votes to defeat PDP and LP candidates with 58708 and 13061 votes respectively.
Similarly, Senator Solomon Adeola secured a fresh mandate to represent Ogun West defeating Chief Ganbiyu Obanibasiri (PDP), who polled 60,189 votes.
Spokesman for the senate and former commissioner in Osun State, Senator Ajibola Basiru of APc lost his bid to retain his seat as . he lost to Fadeyi Olubiyi of PDP for the Osun Sentral by 117,609 as against 134,229 votes.
Francis Fadahunsi polled 127,877 votes to retain his seat for Osunn East. He defeated, Mr Ajibola Famurewa of APC who got 95,670 votes. In Osun West, Me lere Ojwumi (PDP) also retained his seat with 138,476 votes as against 104459 votes received by Amidu Tadese of APC.
Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Honourable Peter Akpatason (AP)C) won .
Elsewhere, a three-time governorship candidate in Ogun State, Chief Gboyega Isiaka (APC) amassed 29543 votes to defeat Olusoji eweje (PDP) who polled 17760 votes in the Egbado and Imeko-Afon Federal constituency.
Ex-Governor Danjuma Goje secured the mandate to represent Gombe Central, scoring 102916 votes to defeat Aliyu Abubakar (PDP) who had 37870 votes.
APC wins two Senate seats, PDP one in JIgawa
In Jigawa North West, Taminu Turaki (PDP) lost to Babangida Hussaini of APC by 134,1999 votes to 187,049 votes, jJust as Nuraddeen Muhammad (PDP) lost with 107,455 votes to Abdilhamid Mallammadori (APC), who polled 136,977 votes for Jigawa North East.
However, Habib Mustapha (PDP) defeated the incumbent senator sabo nakudu of apc with 153731 and 134802 votes respectively for jigawa south-west.
The winner was Ahmed Abdul Hamid Mallam Madori of APC.
The result for the election in the Kirikasamma/Birniwa and Guri Federal Constituency in JIgawa state, has also been won by Honourable Abubakar Hassan Fulata of the All Progressives congress (APC) who got 44,692 votes to defeat Abba Daguro (PDP), who polled 30,654 votes
While the Gwaram Federal Constituency won by Yusif Shitu Galambi of NNPP 27831 flows Isah Idris Gwaram of APC 19252 and Dr Awwal Muhd of PDP 17779.
PDP wins Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra federal constituency
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner Of Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency by Collation Officer, Calistus Ubleble.
Declaring the result in Obudu in norhtern part of the state, Ubleble said the PDP candidate, Mr. Peter Akpanke, polled 36, 576 to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rt. Hon Legor Idagbo, who scored 25, 819.
Idagbo is the incumbent member representing the federal constituency. He was contesting for the the third time.
The collation officer said total number of votes cast is 69, 896 out of 272, 002 registered voters.
Mustapha, Ashiru of APC win Senate seats in Kwara
The APC senatorial candidate for the Kwara Central senatorial, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has been declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The INEC Returning officer for Kwara Central, Professor Abdullahi Saliu Abubakar, announced the results.
Saliu Mustapha polled 109,823 votes to defeat his main opponent, Bolaji Abdullahi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 69,202.
While Ridwan Apaokagi of Social Democratic Party (SDP) scores 13,193, Akanbi Farook of Labour Party (LP) secured 9,280 votes.
Mustapha, who is the Turaki of Ilorin also won in the four local government areas in the senatorial district, to represent the district for the first time.
Also, Senator Lola Ashiru representing Kwara South Senatorial District of Kwara (APC) has been reelected for another term in office.
The returning officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Ajibola Akanbi, made the announcement at the collation centre in OmuAran on Sunday night.
Declaring the official result, Akanbi said Senator Ashiru of the APC polled 55,966, while Senator Rafiu Ibrahim of PDP scored 34,950
Professor Wale Suleiman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) polled 24,215 to come third .
It was gathered that late arrival of officials from Offa and Oyun local government areas delayed the announcement of the result on Sunday night.
Umahi polls 28,378 votes to win Ebonyi South
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Governor David Nweze Umahi winner of the contest to represent Ebonyi Southl in the Senate in the next dispensation.
Declaring the result in Afikpo, headquarters of the zone, Professor Augustine Ogugua Egwu of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo, the returning officer announced that Umahi of APC polled 28,378 to beat his closest rival of the LP Linus Okorie, who polled 25, 496 votes.
Egwu noted that Umahi having satisfied all the requirements of the law is declared winner of the Ebonyi South and as a senator-elect.
Lawan secures mandate to represent Yobe North again
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has won, by a landslide, the Senatorial election for Yobe North, in Yobe State.
The Senate President was formally declared winner on Sunday night by INEC which announced that Lawan polled 91,318 votes, representing 74.7 percent of the total valid votes(122,193), to defeat his closest rival, Bello Ilu of PDP who polled 22,849 votes.
This is the seventh parliamentary election won consecutively by Lawan into the National Assembly since 1999, the first two of which gave him ticket to the House of Representatives while the last five gave him ticket to the Senate.
Ayade loses bid for Cross River North senatorial seat
Governor Ayade of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has been defeated in the Cross River Northern Senatorial District, by Senator Jarigbe Agom of the PDP.
Jarigbe Agom, the incumbent senator representing Cross River North, scored 76,145 votes to defeat incumbent Governor Ayade, who scored 56,595 votes.
Announcing the results at the Senatorial district headquarters, the INEC returning officer, Emmanuel Emanghe declared Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe winner of the polls.
“This is the summary of results collated for the northern senatorial district; APC 56,595 PDP , 76145.
“By the powers conferred on me, as the returning officer for the northern senatorial district, I hereby announce Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe of the PDP elected for the northern senatorial district, of Cross River state.”
Kogi APC candidate retains seat
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Abdullahi Halims, candidate has been declared winner of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency in Kogi.
The returning officer of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dr Kadiri Wasiiu, declared the results in Ankpa on Monday
According to Wasiu, Halims polled a total of 34,280 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Joshua Adejoh of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 25,847 votes.
Abdullahi Halims of the All Progressives Congress (APC), having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,? Wasiu said.
Reacting to the result, Mr Muhammed Nasiru, the Coordinator of Information, Visual and Strategic (IVS) Operations to Halims, said the result is a reflection that the APC candidate is loved by his people.
Jigawa
The senators-elect are: Alhaji Mustapha Khabib (PDP) for the JIgawa South-West who scored 153,73 votes; APC candidate Alhaji Babangida Husaini of who won the JIgawa North-West with 187,049 votes and Ambassador Abdulhamid Ahmed Malammadori who won in the JIgawa North-East with 136,977 votes.
Ogun
Olumide Osoba, son of former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, has been elected into the House of Representatives for Obafemi-Owode,Odeda and Abeokuta North Federal Constituency for the third time running. He scored a total of 43,406 votes to defeat his closest rival, Yemi Coker, of the PDP, who polled 24,928 votes.
Edo South
LP candidate, Neda Imasuen won the Edo South senatorial election as he polled 167,250 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mathhew Iduoriyekemwen of the PDP who garnered 61,749. Valentine Asuen, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 57,933, candidates of the AA scored 369 votes, ADC, 1909, ADP, 1022, NNPP, 2279, NRM scored 581, SDP 400, and ZLP 2670 respectively.
Senatorial results in Abuja cancelled
The senatorial results for Abaji area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has been cancelled.
The INEC collation officer in charge of senatorial results in the FCT, Professor Sani Saka disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja, on Monday, citing over voting.
The cancellation was necessitated by the fact that while the total number of accredited voters was 21,473, the number of vote cast stood at 21,903.
Ortom loses election
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, lost the senatorial election to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Titus Zam.
Announcing the results at the senatorial district headquarters at North Bank, Makurdi, the returning officer, Professor Rufus Shato declared that Zampolled 143,151 votes which was the highest.
Ortom scored 106,882 votes while Labour Party’s candidate, Mike Gbillah scored 51,950 votes.
Meanwhile, Senator Abba Moro of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won his election.
Moro polled 76,459 votes to defeat Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 59,959 while theLabour Party candidate, Joe Ojobo scored 40,194 votes.
APC wins Kwara North senatorial ticket for second term
Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kwara North senatorial district, Alhaji Umar Sadiq, has been declared winner of Saturday’s elections.
Sadiq, who would be returning for second term in the Senate, polled 78,015 votes to beat his closest rival, Issa Bawa Adamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 41,443 votes, while Labour Party (LP) candidate, Moses Rebecca polled 1,947 votes.
The declaration was made by the Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Kwara North, Professor Oluwole Akinola.
Ugwuanyi loses to Ezea in Enugu North
The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Chief Okechukwu Ezea of Labour Party (LP), winner of Saturday’s general election for the Enugu North Senatorial District.
The Returning officer, Prof Chukuemeka Ubaka, announced the results early Monday morning at Nsukka INEC office.
Ubaka said Ezea scored a total of 104,492 votes to defeat Governor IfeanyiUgwuanyi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who scored 46,948.
The APC candidate, Mr Simon Eze came third with 6,816 votes.
PDP wins Jigawa Central Senate seat
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Mr Habib Mustafa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner of Jigawa Central Senate seat.
INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Usman Haruna, who declared the results on Monday in Dutse said that Mustafa polled 153,731 votes to emerge winner.
Haruna said that Senator Sabo Nakudu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled 134,802 votes to place second.
Mr Musa Bako of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) scored 18,662 votes, while Mr Musa Abdullahi of ADC scored 620 votes.
Niger governor wins Senate seat
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello, on platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Niger South seat at the National Assembly.
INEC Returning Officer, Kolo Zacchaeus, announced the result on Monday in Kontangora.
Sani-Bello scored 100,197 votes to defeat Shehu Abdullahi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 88,153 votes.
Wali Ibrahim of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) scored 13,886 votes, while SaniSule of APGA got 2,747 votes and Musa Yakubu of ADC scored 636 votes.
Al-Makura humbled by Onawo of PDP in Nasarawa
Senator Tanko Al-Makura on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lost his re-election bid to Mohammed Onawo of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Declaring the result on Monday in Lafia, Professor Ahmed Ashiku, the Returning Officer, said, in the election for Nasarawa South, Onawo got 93,064 votes to defeat Al-Makura who polled 76,813 votes.
PDP wins A’Ibom South
MrEkong Samson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the Akwa-Ibom South Senatorial election.
The returning officer, Professor Effanga Effanga announced the results at the collation centre in Eket Local Government Area, on Monday.
Samson polled 79,327 votes followed by Mr Martyns Udo-Inyang of All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 33, 256.
Mr Ephraim Inyang-Eyen of Young Progressive Party (YPP) got 19, 336 while Mr Henry Dominic of Labour Party (LP) scored 17,760 votes.
Dankwambo wins Gombe North
Former governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo has won the Gombe Central North Senatorial District, defeating the incumbent Alhaji Saidu Alkali of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Professor Umaru Guram, returning officer of Gombe North, announced the result on Monday in Malamsidi headquarters of Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe.
Dankwambo polled 143155 votes to defeat his closest rival, Alkali of the APC, who scored votes 77,948.
APC wins Ebonyi North Senatorial District as Egwu loses third term bid
Mr Onyekachi Nwebonyi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won Saturday election to represent Ebonyi North Senatorial District.
The Returning Officer, Mr Nwogo Obasi announced the result at the INEC office in Abakaliki Local Government Area on Sunday.
Nwebonyi of the APC scored 65,863 votes to win, while Mr Ejiofor Chukwu of the Labour Party scored 42,283 votes to emerge second.
Egwu, who came third got 26,569 votes.
PDP wins Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency seat
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Dachung Bagos of PDP winner of Saturday’s election for the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency seat in Platue.
The Returning Officer, Professor Jonathan Dabak of the University of Jos, on Monday, in Jos declared Bagos winner, having polled 95, 637 votes.
Dabak, announced that the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Alfred Ajang, came second with 36, 270 votes while the APC’s candidate, Gideon Dandareng, followed with 27,235 votes.
PDP’s Mustapha wins Kaduna North Senatorial Seat
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Alhaji Khalid Ibrahim-Mustapha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of Kaduna North Senatorial District election.
The INEC Returning Officer for the election, Professor Saleh Ado of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, announced the result in Zaria on Monday.
Khalid-Mustapha secured 250, 026 votes to defeat his closest rival, the incumbent senator, Kwari Suleiman Abdu of the APC, who scored 190,008 votes.
Usman Bawa of NNPP scored 28,511 to come third, while Sidi Ibrahim Bamalli of Labour Party polled 28, 418 votes.
A’Ibom Speaker wins North-East senatorial seat
Speaker, AkwaIbom House of Assembly, Mr AniekenBassey, who contested for the Akwa Ibom North-East senatorial seat, has emerged victorious.
Bassey vied for the seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Returning Officer, Professor Enoidem Usoro, who announced the results in Uyo on Monday, said Bassey got 98,634 votes.
Mr Ukpong Emaeyak Nkanga of All Progressives Party (APC), got 43,204 votes
Similarly, Senator GodswillAkpabio of APC was victorious in his senatorial bid, polling 115,401 votes.
Akpabio defeated his closest rival, Mr Emmanuel Enoidem of the PDP, who polled 69,838 votes.
Abiru wins East Senatorial seat for APC in Lagos
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Senator Adetokunbo Abiru of the APC as winner of Lagos East senatorial district election.
The returning officer, Professor Simeon Oladipo, announced Abiru as the winner, on Monday, in Lagos.
The returning officer who declared the results at about 12.48pm at INEC Collation Centre, in Somolu, said Abiru secured 178,646 votes.
Mr Akobada Nicholas Adekunle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 80, 249 votes followed Abiru.
Yari wins Zamfara West
The former Governor of Zamfara, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, on platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) won Zamfara West Senatorial election.
The Returning Officer, Zamfara West Senatorial Election, Professor Rufus Tinuola announced the results at the collation centre in Talata-Mafara on Monday.
Yari scored 147,346 votes against his closest opponent of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bello S-Fagon, who scored 58,832 votes.
Abdul Ningi wins Bauchi Central senatorial seat
Senatorial Abdul Ningi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the Bauchi Central Senatorial seat.
The Returning Officer, Professor Ibrahim Danjuma announced the result, on Monday, at Darazo Collation Centre in Darazo Local Government Area of the state.
Ningi polled 104,878 votes to defeat his closest rival, Uba Ahmad-Nana of the APC, who got 84,621 votes.
IsahMisau of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) scored 17,995 votes.
APC wins all three Oyo Senatorial seats, PDP kicks
The All Progressives Congress (APC) won all the three Senatorial seats in the Saturday’s election held in Oyo State.
Barrister Sarafadeen Alli polled the highest number of votes in Oyo South, MrYunus Akintunde won that of Oyo Central while Mr Fatai Buhari was returned as senator-elect in Oyo North.
Alli polled 111,513 votes which was the highest, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Joseph Tegbe was second with 92,481 votes, Kolapo Kola Daisi of Accord polled 33,641 votes to come third, followed by Labour Party which had 22,657 votes.
In Oyo Central, Akintunde defeated the PDP candidate, Chief BisiIlaka who had 101,213 votes; Accord candidate, Engineer DotunFaozey who polled 41,743 votes.
In Oyo North, Mr Fatai Buharihad 90,078 votes followed by PDP’s Akinwale Akinwole who had 77,034 votes; then Shina Peller of Accord with 54,732 votes and MulikatAkande-Adeola of Social Democratic Party (SDP) who had 33,940 votes.
Meanwhile, PDP’s collation agent for Oyo South Senatorial District, Mr Muyiwa Makinde, speaking with Nigerian Tribune, before end of the collation, described the collation process as untidy, full of errors.
He said the PDP had grouse with the collation in about three local government areas.
Similarly, the PDP Oyo South candidate, Tegbe, described the result as unacceptable, adding that he will challenge any electoral fraud discovered within the ambit of the law.
Reacting to APC feat by his party in the Senatorial election, governorship candidate of the APC, Senator Teslim Folarin thanked Oyo electorate for voting the APC candidates.
Folarin, through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yekeen Olaniyi, lauded residents of the state for demonstrating extraordinary resilience and abiding faith in the APC by voting en-masse for its candidates.
PDP wins JIgawa Central Senatorial position
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Alhaji Mustapha Khabib of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of Jigawa Central Senatorial election.

INEC declares LP candidate winner of Edo South election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Barrister NedaImasuen, has been declared winner of the Edo South Senatorial election.
Announcing the results in the early hours of Monday, INEC Returning Officer, Professor Julius Obasuyi, said the LP candidate polled 167,250 votes to defeat Matthew Iduoriyekemwen of the PDP garnered 61,749 votes.
Valentine Asuenof the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 57,933 votes.
Senate President Lawan wins Yobe North Senatorial District election
Senator Ahmed Lawan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the Yobe North Senatorial election.
Declaring the results in Gashua, on Monday, the returning officer, Professor Omolala Aduoju of Federal University, Gashua, said Lawan scored 91,318 votes.
Sheriff Abdullahi, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 22,849, while the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, Alhaji Garba Umar, scored 7,210 votes.
The Action Democratic Party (ADP) scored three votes though the party did not field a candidate in the election.
NNPP, Accord demand entire cancellation of Oluyole Reps election
As INEC declares election inconclusive
Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for Oluyole federal constituency, Mr Aderonke Adedoja and the Chairman, Accord Party, Oluyole local government, Mr Akeem Adeoye have demanded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel last Saturday’s election for Oluyole federal constituency.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the election as inconclusive having cancelled the election results in eight polling units.
In separate interactions with journalists, the duo of Adedoja and Adeoye alleged that the election in the constituency lacked credibility, was characterized by errors and discrepancies.
Speaking, Adedoja claimed that over voting, inducement of voters, rigging, errors characterized the election and collation of results in the constituency.
She said over voting was evidenced by the fact that the votes that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) claimed to have amassed was more than the number of eligible voters in the contentious polling units.
Adedoja charged the INEC to call to order the electoral officer for the federal constituency.
In the same vein, the Accord Chairman in Oluyole alleged discrepancies in the number of ballot papers supplied for the election into the National Assembly.
He said, on the day of the election, the party complained that the ballot papers for House of Representatives in the Oluyole Federal Constituency were not sufficient yet election went ahead with ballot papers rationed to ward collation centres.
He said with the election going ahead with alleged insufficient ballot papers, eligible voters were denied their right.
According to Adeoye, a total of 49,904 eligible voters were disenfranchised in the constituency, hence the result did not reflect the wishes of the people.
Similarly, candidates of the NNPP: Mr Nureni Salam, Ido/Ibarapa East; MrAbioyeAdegboyega, Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere; Mr Akande Morounkolu, Ibadan North-West/South-West also called for cancellation of the results in their constituencies.
They alleged that the logo and party name was faint and blunt to the extent that their supporters could not identify the party on the ballot paper.
As a result, they said they lost 80 percent of those who would have voted the NNPP in the election.
Lalong loses senatorial bid
Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong has lost his Senate bid for Plateau South Senatorial District to AVM Napoloen Bali (rtd).
The Returning Officer, Professor James Damen, said Napoleon Bali of the Peoples Democratic Party polled a total vote of 35,719 to defeat Simon Lalong of the APC who scored 18,315; and the candidate of the LP, Alex Kwapnoe, with 29,515
In the House of Representatives’ election, the daughter of the late Chief Solomon Lar, HonourableBeniLar, won Langtang North and Langtang South federal constituencies with 18,899 votes for the fifth time in a row.
She defeated her closest rival, Vincent Venmak, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 8,871 votes, and the former Minister of Sport and Youth Development, HonourableSolomon Dalung, who contested on the platform of African Democratic Party (ADP).
Ned Nwoko wins Delta North, Elumelu loses to LP
A former member of the House of Representatives, Prince Ned Nwoko has won the Delta North senatorial election.
Nwoko, husband to a Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, polled 92,514 votes to defeat the candidate of Labour Party (LP), Ken Kanma who scored 86,121 votes according to the result announced by the Delta north senatorial returning officer, Dr Josephine Okeakwa.
Similarly, the minority leader in the house, Ndudi Elumelu of PDP lost in his Aniocha/Oshimili constituency of Delta state to LP candidate, Ngozi Okolie.
Okolie polled 53,879 votes, Elumelusecured 33,456 votes while Dr Tony Nwaka of APC, had 11,713 votes.
Saturday’s election outcome not indication of PDP weakness in Oyo —Party chair
Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo state, Mr Dayo Ogungbenro has held that the outcome of last Saturday’s election is not an indication of the party’s weakness in Oyo state, stressing that the party was studying the political dynamics that played out during the national assembly election for necessary action.
To this end, the party chairman urged party faithful to dust off the outcome of the presidential and national assembly elections and remain focused on the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
In a statement made available to journalists on Monday, by the party’s publicity secretary, Akeem Olatunji, Ogungbenro said the party was fully aware of the political dynamics that led to the outcome of the Feb 25 election.
While congratulating all elected members for the House of Representatives on the party’s platform, the party empathized with all its candidates who lost assuring them of the party’s continuous support.
While expressing appreciation to party members and leaders across the 33 local government areas of the state, the ruling party said Oyo state must remain PDP at the end of the forthcoming governorship and state assembly elections.
APC wins Ondo Senate Seats, eight out of nine Reps seats
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has won all the three Senatorial seats in the state, while also clinching eight out of the nine House of Representatives seats in the state.
In Ondo South, Dr Jimoh Ibrahim defeated former deputy governor of the state, Honourable Agboola Ajayi.
Ibrahim scored 110,665 to defeat Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party who polled 65,784.
In Ondo North, JideIpinsagba of APC also emerged winner of the contest in the senatorial district, defeating Tokunbo Modupe of PDP.
The PDP won the Ifedore/ Idanre Federal Constituency.
The APC cleared all the remaining eight seats which include Owo/Ose, won by Timehin Adelegbe; Akoko South East /South West, Honourable Gboyega Adefarati; Akure North/Akure South, Honourable Derin Adesida and Ilaje/ Ese-Odo Federal Constituency won by Donald Ojogo
Others include Irele/Okitipupa won by Jimi Odimayo; Akoko North East/North West,BunmiTunji-Ojo; Odigbo/Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo, Honourable Festus Adefiranye; while Abiola Makinde returned as House of Representatives member representing, Ondo West/East Constituency.
PDP wins presidential, nine NASS polls in Adamawa
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of Saturday’s presidential election and nine National Assembly seats in Adamawa.
The state Returning Officer, Professor Mohammed Mele, announced this at the end of results collated from the 21 local government areas of the state on Monday.
Mele said PDP’s Atiku Abubakar scored 417,611 votes to beat Senator Bola Tinubu of All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 182,881 votes.
Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) had 105,648 votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) scored 8,006 votes.
Mele said two out of the three senatorial zones in the state were won by the PDP, while APC won one seat.
Kalu wins, Onyejeocha loses
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared chief Whip of the Senate and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Orji UzorKaluas winner of theAbia-North Senatorial election.
Orji polled a total of 30,805 votes to defeat Mao Ohuabunwa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had 15, 175 votes and NnamdiIroh of the Labour Party who polled 27,540 votes.
The Nkeiru Onyejeocha’s bid to return to the House of Representatives for the fifth time was ended by AmobiOgah of the Labour Party.
Onyejeocha, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had for 16 years representedIsiukwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency.
NNPP, Accord demand cancellation of Oluyole Reps election
Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for Oluyole federal constituency, Mr Aderonke Adedoja and the Chairman, Accord Party, Oluyole local government, Mr Akeem Adeoye have demanded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel last Saturday’s election for Oluyole federal constituency.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the election as inconclusive having cancelled the election results in eight polling units.
In separate interactions with journalists, the duo of Adedoja and Adeoye alleged that the election in the constituency lacked credibility, was characterized by errors and discrepancies.
Speaking, Adedoja claimed that over voting, inducement of voters, rigging, errors characterized the election and collation of results in the constituency.
In the same vein, the Accord Chairman in Oluyole alleged discrepancies in the number of ballot papers supplied for the election into the National Assembly.
He said, on the day of the election, the party complained that the ballot papers for House of Representatives in the Oluyole Federal Constituency were not sufficient yet election went ahead with ballot papers rationed to ward collation centres.
He said with the election going ahead with alleged insufficient ballot papers, eligible voters were denied their right.
Similarly, candidates of the NNPP: Mr Nureni Salam, Ido/Ibarapa East; Mr Abioye Adegboyega, Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere; Mr Akande Morounkolu, Ibadan North-West/South-West also called for cancellation of the results in their constituencies.
They alleged that the logo and party name was faint and blunt to the extent that their supporters could not identify the party on the ballot papers.
