Barrister Kolapo Alimi Senior Legislative Aide to the Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Barr. Kolapo Alimi, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and now Senior Legislative Aide to the Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila
has described his suspension as a ruse, saying that he was reading the “purported suspension” online like many other people.
According to Alimi, the “purported suspension” was baseless as their was no any allegation against him, maintaining that the party did not at anytime queried him.
TheSource reported that All Progressive Congress Party (APC), Osun chapter was suspended Alimi for anti party activities.
Alimi who spoke with Our Reporter in a telephone interview today said, “My purported suspension is a ruse. I read it online the same way you got to know about it.
“According to Article 21 of the APC Constitution, suspension falls under pinvestment, and before anybody could be punished in the party; he ought to have committed an offence, an allegation must have been leveled against him, he must have been given the opportunity to defend himself and if found guilty, then punishment could be applied which suspension is part of.
“And so in the instance case, that process was not followed. This morning, I heard some people mobilised police to our party office and some people sat and said they suspended me.
“I was not accused or alleged of any misconduct, no allegation was made against me informal or formal, and I was not called to come and defend myself of any allegation whatsoever.
“I count that suspension as a ruse, I have not been served formally with that letter, and I am still waiting for it.
