Against the backdrop of many interventions and perpetual support for the labour union, the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), Osun SUBEB chapter have applauded the Oluomo of Modakekeland, Alhaji Abdul-Fatai Kolawole.

The commendation was given by leadership of the union to the education veteran yesterday at the official commissioning and unveiling of NASU-SUBEB union vehicle which was held at the expansive hall of the SUBEB warehouse, behind Omoluabi holdings, Osogbo, Osun State capital.

The union associated the resounding successes recorded by the union within the few years of its formation to the unquantifiable roles of the Oluomo of Modakeke who was described as a strong pillar of support all the time.

The union noted that despite the retirement of the education topnotch from the state civil service, he has continued to motivate and support the activities of the labour union.

Earlier in his keynote address, Alhaji Abdul Fatai Kolawole commended the union particularly the leadership for exhibiting good virtues and strives for excellence.

“No doubt, your union is one of the important organised labour unions in the country education sector and has been at the forefront of engaging government at all levels”
.
“While taking a closer look at important projects being launched today, you will all agree with me that the present crop of leaders and members of this noble union is fulfilling the dream of the founding fathers”

“The convenience the bus would provide for members for many short and long trips makes it an essential need. It also provides a unique identity at outings and a veritable source of income for the union”

“Let me use this opportunity to challenge you as a union to be more dutiful to work and continue to contribute meaningfully well to the development of basic education across the state. While advocating for better welfare for your members from time to time, it is also important you place a premium on engaging the government at all levels for better funding of basic education so that every child would have access to not just education but quality and qualitative one”, the statement concluded.

Alhaji Abdul-Fatai who was represented at the event by Barrister Wole Animasahun later led the leadership of the union and other guests to the official commission of the bus.
