A private school director in Lagos State, Venerable Tunde Oduwole, has harped on the need for national integration, unity and cultural diversity among Nigerians with a view to making the country a better place to live in.

He made the call recently during the 30th and 3rd anniversary ceremonies of the Remilekun Nursery and Primary School and Remilekun International College at Gbagada, Lagos State.

Oduwole while fielding questions from journalists shortly after the event stressed the importance of the promotion of various cultures, particularly from grassroots level, adding that it would help in nation-building and proper integration among different ethnic groups.

“It’s imperative we promote our cultures and the need for national integration in the society. This we should inculcate in our children, so that as they grow, they will help foster nation-building and national unity among individuals and diverse cultures,” he said.

Speaking on the anniversary of the schools, he narrated that the evolution of Remilekun School was a brainchild of the late Mrs Florence Oduwole.

“We are grateful to God for where we are today. The visionary idea which was planted 30 years ago has germinated graciously into a giant seed.

“The trajectory down the years has really not been easy but thankfully, we have made tremendous progress despite the challenges of financing, cash crunch and others.

“By April, our secondary section will be three years, and this we can say is a work in positive progress,” he added.”
