In a strongly worded address to Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora, former Labour Party presidential aspirant and founder of the Rescue Movement, Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, also known as FADOJOE, has raised the alarm over the resurgence of recycled politicians regrouping under new political platforms ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Describing the current political maneuverings as “a dangerous trap,” Fadojoe cautioned Nigerians not to be deceived by familiar political actors now donning “new garments” in parties such as the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Action Democratic Alliance (ADA), and the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

“A thief in a new garment is still a thief,” Fadojoe said. “These are the same political elites who have looted our national resources, wrecked our economy, and turned Nigeria into a land of insecurity, unemployment, and hopelessness. Now they’re trying to deceive us again.”

He decried the desperate attempts by aging political figures to remain relevant in power, likening their coalition-building efforts to a selfish strategy aimed at protecting their own interests, not those of the people.

“Some of them are old enough to be great-grandfathers, yet they want to die in Aso Rock. Nigerians must ask: what are these men still looking for in government at 65 or 70?” he queried.

Fadojoe urged Nigerians to reject these so-called coalitions, which he believes are not founded on ideology, integrity, or national interest, but on personal survival and greed. He warned that accepting such alliances would only deepen the nation’s misery.

“If we allow the same failed political actors to hijack new party structures, we are signing off on our own suffering and that of generations to come,” he stressed.

The Rescue Movement founder called on the youth, workers, market women, artisans, and other marginalized groups to rise and take ownership of Nigeria’s democratic process. He encouraged the formation of a genuine people’s coalition rooted in integrity, fresh ideas, and servant leadership.

“What Nigeria needs now is not another gang of political desperados. We need a united, people-driven platform with vibrant young leaders, bold ideas, and patriotic hearts,” he said.

Fadojoe emphasized that true change would not come through tribal or religious sentiments, but through a conscious and collective decision by ordinary Nigerians to demand better leadership and participate in political processes from the grassroots.

“The oppressors are united, why are the oppressed divided? The time to act is now. Not tomorrow. Not in 2027. Now.”

He concluded with a rallying call to Nigerians everywhere:

“Let us build a true coalition of purpose, not power. Let us rescue Nigeria. Yes we can. Yes we will.”
