Good morning! Here is today’s summary from Nigerian Newspapers:

1. The Federal Government’s war against Twitter continued on Tuesday with an accusation that the micro-blogging platform and its founder, Jack Dorsey, were vicariously liable for the losses Nigeria suffered during the #EndSARS protests in October 2020. Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed stated this when he featured on “Politics Nationwide,’’ a Radio Nigeria call-in programme.

2. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Maj.-Gen. Farouk Yahaya has said the Army will work in synergy with other service chiefs to fight insecurity in the country. Yahaya said this on Tuesday while addressing the House of Representatives Committees on Defence and Army in Abuja.

3. The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday justified borrowings by the Federal Government, explaining that the loans were invested in the development of critical infrastructure across the country. APC Caretaker Committee Secretary Senator James Akpanudoedehe stated this in a statement yesterday.

4. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa has said that corruption is fighting back, alleging that he has been getting death threats. Bawa made the disclosures while appearing on the Sunrise Daily programme on Channels Television.

5. The Delta State government on Tuesday insisted that the £4.2 million Ibori-linked loot must be spent on projects in the Southsouth state. In its second letter requesting for the release of the £4,214,017.66 repatriated by the British Government to the Federal Government, the state maintained that the cash must come back to it.

6. Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to be more effective in securing the lives and property of Nigerians. The governor spoke at the commissioning of the 21-kilometre Odufor-Akpoku-Umuoye Road in Etche Local Government Area of the State on Tuesday.

7. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of 10 siblings of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who lost their lives during the 2011 post-election violence in Bauchi State. This was made known by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, during the inauguration of the NYSC national governing board for a 3-year tenure on Tuesday.

8. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has agreed in principle to mint The Gambian Dalasi. The CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, agreed to the currency minting proposal from the Governor of the Central Bank of the Gambia, Mr. Buah Saidy, who led a delegation to visit him on Tuesday.

9. Following President Muhammadu Buhari’s order, the military on Tuesday, began the bombardment of bandits’ hideouts in the North-West, North-Central and some parts of the North-East.

10. After seven months in Boko Haram captivity, a pastor with the Church of Christ in Nations, Rev Polycarp Zongo, has regained his freedom. A peace advocate and President of the Gideon & Funmi Para-Mallam Peace Foundation, Rev Gideon Para-Mallam, confirmed Zongo’s release in Jos on Tuesday
