The non-indigenes in Kano have assured the State governor-elect, Alhaji Abba Kabir-Yusuf, of their unalloyed support and cooperation, to his administration, urging him to ensure a continuous prevailing peaceful coexistence in the State so as to enhance cordial relationship and economic development.
Speaking on behalf of ethnic traditional rulers, the chairman Eze Ndigbo of Kano, Igwe ( Dr.)Boniface Ibekwe on Friday said that the body believed that the tenure, of the governor-elect, would lead to enhancement in the prevailing peaceful coexistence between the ethnic nationalities and the host community.
According to him, “peaceful coexistence is highly vital and needed to boost socio-economic and political development, therefore, we the non-indigenes would continuously pray for this to reign during the tenure of the governor-elect”.
The chairman of the ethnic rulers, namely, South East, South West, South-South, and Northern Minority, while rejoicing with the Governor-elect, over his victory at the recent gubernatorial poll expressed confidence that Alhaji Yusuf, governor-elect will deliver the best for the State.
“On behalf of the undersigned Ethnic Traditional Leaders, we write to congratulate the Governor-elect, prayed for the sustenance of the prevailing peace in Kano State vis a vis the prevailing peaceful coexistence between the ethnic nationalities and the host community, while looking forward to a very robust inclusive administrative ness,” he said.
In their remarks, Eze Ndigbo of Kano, Igwe Boniface Ibekwe, Oba Yoruba, Alhaji Murtala Alimi Otisese, Ada Idoma of Kano, Alhaji Abubakar Ohochi, and Sarki Edo Deacon Fred Akhigbe, South-South zone noted that “this is a task we beseech Allah (SWT) to ease for Your Excellency”.
“As a father to all, it’s imperative we do everything legally possible to support the enduring success of the administration of the Governor-elect.
“We are confident and convinced that Your Excellency will deliver on your promises to the good people of Kano state and the Nation in general.
“We Beseech Allah to guide, guard, protect and ease the task of governance for the Governor-elect.”
