Well-meaning Nigerians have been called to use their resources to provide essential care packages to mothers and children in underserved communities.

The called was made during distribution of the essential care packages to the new mothers at the Osun State Teaching Hospital and Our Lady of Fatima (Jaleyemi Hospital Osogbo) by NoorHayat Foundation.

The foundation’s founder, Zainab Adetunji, encouraged the wealthy people to support mothers and children, stating that little they do will goes a long way for the young one and their family.

According to her, “We have noticed that many mothers, many children, especially on under deserved communities are having issues when it comes to having essential packs for their children.

“We extend our hands of fellowship to ensure that those children that are bringing to the world does not suffer basic care needs, and also those children are already malnourished.

“We take them out of that situation. We’ve had cases. We’ve seen children. We’ve seen mothers that suffer. Why having this money and you cannot impact lives? So the best thing is, whatever little thing you feel you have, the little things you give to them, put a smile on their faces. As the name of our foundation goes, Noorhayat means light of hope. We’re giving light and hope, to both mothers, both children.

Speaking on the number beneficiaries from the foundation, she said that the foundation had support over 300 mothers with essential care package worth N50,000 each in less than three of establishment.

She said “There is a lot of experience, I must tell you, some are some gladdens our hearts. We are happy to be there when they needed us.

“There are some cases that were not palatable, some cases made us cry today.

“We are here in Osun, we have gone to Our Lady of Fatima. Now we are in Osun State Teaching Hospital. We met patients, and we are able to extend our love hands of fellowship and love to them.

“We have also been to gwagwalada, kubwa General Hospital, Keffi FMC and the General Hospital the case there are not encouraging, it was in kaffi we met babies that are malnourished, we have met babies that have lost their parents.

“So I want to use this as a medium to encourage the wealthy people to support mothers and children, the little you do will goes a long way for this young one and for their family.

“Our pack at Noorahayat foundation costs nothing less than N50,000, a pack of N50,000 can go a long way putting smile of the face of people, even if it is an outreach you do.

“Noorahayat foundation i just barely two months or three months away, established in April. And what we’ve done, we’ve imparted over 300 mothers just within the space.

In their separate commendation, the Chief Medical Director, Dr Babatunde Afolabi through head of Corporate Affair department, Osun Teaching Hospital and head of administration of Our Lady of Fatima, Rev. Father Simeon Oyetumbi described the gesture of the foundation towards those in need as a special move.

They commended the foundation for the care by putting smile on the people faces, urging Nigerians to emulate kind gesture to make life better for every individual in the country.
