Coach Goran Ivanisevic has revealed that Novak Djokovic likely won’t play an ATP tournament in a long time as he is probably going to miss all Asian events and return to action at the Paris Masters. On Sunday, 36-year-old Djokovic capped off his summer on hard courts with back-to-back titles at the Cincinnati Masters and US Open.

This week, Djokovic will again be in action as he is set to represent Serbia in the Davis Cup. After the Davis Cup, Djokovic will take a break and maybe play again at the Paris Masters, which starts on October 30th. “I don’t look into the future.

My future is that I have knee surgery now, so we’ll see. As for Novak, I know he is going to the Davis Cup. After that, he should rest well and regroup. I don’t think he will go to China, but he will have to play at least one more thing before Turin and the final tournament.

Maybe Paris. We’ll see, now we’ll enjoy this victory for a bit,” Ivanisevic told Sport Klub.

Ivanisevic on Djokovic’s 24th Grand Slam win

This year, Djokovic turned 36 and won three of four Grand Slam tournaments. Only at Wimbledon, Djokovic didn’t win the title.

But even at Wimbledon, Djokovic was very close to winning the title as he was beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in five sets in the final. “It’s a pity, (at) Wimbledon, one, two points, up and down, he could have all four (slams in a year).

Let’s not be spoiled, you know. He achieved something amazing. He came here and made 24 Grand Slams. Still hungry, still breaking records, still playing unbelievable tennis. It’s just nice to watch from up there. Just have a good seat and enjoying myself.

He’s a genius. He’s one of kind. Not too many people in this world like him in sport-wise,” Ivanisevic said.
