The National Rescue Movement (NRM) has extended a formal invitation to former Labour Party presidential aspirant, His Excellency Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, popularly known as Fadojoe, to join its ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This call was made by Rev. Emmanuel Olorunmagba, the National Financial Secretary of NRM, in a statement issued to journalists on Sunday. Rev. Olorunmagba described the move as timely and strategic, given the perceived dwindling fortunes of the Labour Party and the urgent need to unite forces around credible, youth-driven leadership.

“2027 is by the corner, and this is the best time to align with a party like the National Rescue Movement,” the statement read. “Our major agenda is to rescue Nigeria from sit-tight, old-generation politicians who have destroyed everything and turned a richly endowed nation into one where the people suffer endlessly.”

The NRM official noted that despite Fadojoe’s significant contributions to the Labour Party, he was sidelined during the last election cycle after the entrance of Peter Obi into the party. He argued that NRM offers a more viable and forward-looking platform for Fadojoe’s political aspirations.

“Nigerians are yearning for a younger presidential candidate with a clear vision to transform the country,” Olorunmagba added. “The current political confusion, the dominance of APC, and the apparent merger plans of discredited political figures under new banners like ADA, remind us of the 2015 scenario that brought APC to power without any transformative plan. The consequences are evident today.”

He concluded by urging Fadojoe to join forces with the NRM in its mission to restore Nigeria’s lost glory and provide credible alternatives to the existing political establishment.
