In the early hours of yesterday (Wednesday) the Head and members of the legitimately affirmed Royal Family of Itele-Awori Kingdom of Ado Odo Ota Awori Kingdom has lauded the legislative prowess of the Ogun State House of Assembly under the able Speakership of Rt. Hon. (Prince) Olakunle Oluomo on the new Ogun State Obaship Amended Bill.
While speaking to newsmen, the Head of the Supreme family; Adogun Atele comprising of the four (4) Ruling Houses in Itele namely (Imidawo, Òòsà, Ogunrounbi, Alagbeji), Chief Taoreed Dada reiterated on behalf of all descendants of Adogun Atẹle, (the founder and first settler of the great kingdom as judiciously affirmed by the Supreme Court of Nigeria) the utmost support commitment of the family to the government of the state under the led administration of His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun – MFR , he further stress that after expertise on the new signed Obaship law, the family and the entire kingdom will ensure to work in accordance with the provisions of the law.
He further urged the State government and most especially the State ministry of Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs including Ado Odo Ota Local Government under able leadership of Hon. Afolabi Afuape and Hon. Sheriff Adewale Musa respectively, to do the needful by installing the Onitele of Itele-Awori, he said the stool of Onitele of Itele is an highly revered stool that should not be left unattended to for such a long period of time by the authorities, as the monarch if installed will be able to compliment the efforts of the Government for peace, progress and development of the kingdom and state in general.
Also addressing the press is a prominent member of the family, Prince Adelaja Akanni Akapo who also appreciated the State government across the three tiers (i.e The Executive, Legislative and Judiciary) for ensuring a well harmonized law for our traditional institution, while stating that this will bring a long lasting end to power tussle amongst the monarchs, he further stressed on the importance of our traditional institution as the custodian of the culture, traditions and norms of our people and as such must be exalted and orientated to work in unity for progress and development of our beloved local government of distinction and the entire gateway state.
Hence, the leadership of Adogun Atele Royal Family therefore call on the attention of all aggrieved parties in the process of installing another Onitele of Itele and the general public to let peace reign in the kingdom in order of our people to enjoy the long awaited progress we all have been longing for.
