The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, will on Saturday unveil his latest wife, Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda.
The monarch reportedly took his sixth wife sometimes in September last year and is set to officially welcome her into his Palace in Ile-Ife.
Invitations for the Thanksgiving service and reception of the new queen have all reportedly been sent out. Top dignitaries are expected to attend this grand event. The event is scheduled to hold on Saturday 20th May 2023.
The couple reportedly tied the knot on September, 2022.
Recall Oba Enitan Adeyeye, is already married to five other women namely; Olori Mariam, Olori Tobi Phillips Ogunwusi, Princess Ashley Adegoke, Princess Ronke Ademiluyi and Temitope Adesegun
The Nigerian NewsDirect reports that Ooni had already taken his latest wife to make 6th queen in the Palace.
Reacting, the Ooni’s Director of Media and public Affairs Otunba Moses Olafare, said the wife is not a new one. She is the second wife of the monarch. “She is already among the six wives. It is not a new wedding ceremony. The wedding took place September, 2022 in Lagos but she woukd be formally received at the Palace”.
“So, she had been Ooni’s wife, they had married last year. It is just thanksgiving. She will be officially welcome to the Palace because she had not been living in Nigeria.
“She is the second wife of the monarch. She would be welcomed into the Palace in accordance with the traditional culture and rites. She is not a new wife as being rumoured”, Olafare declared
