A foremost socio-cultural group in Osogbo, the Osogbo Progressives Union (OPU) Home Branch has called on indigenes of the ancient town and other well-meaning individuals to join hands with stakeholders for the development of the Osun State capital.
The new President of OPU Home Branch, Hon. Badmus Jelili Amelemero stated this in his acceptance speech, after his inauguration at the Ataoja’s palace, Osogbo.
Amelemero noted the sterling contributions of the sons and daughters of the town to its growth so far, calling for concerted efforts to take Osogbo to greater heights, as well as the need for aggrieved parties to sheath their sword for the progress of Osogbo.
Commending the support of its grand patron, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, OPU National President, Rtd. Justice Moshood Adeigbe, among other stakeholders and individuals, Hon. Amelemero enjoined the people of Osogbo to unite and guard against all divisive tendencies.
Congratulating the new executives, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Olanipekun appreciated the good people of Osogbo for their efforts at the development of their origin, pledging his backing for all OPU’s activities.
In his remarks, the OPU National President, Rtd. Justice Adeigbe reiterated that the progress of the town is non-negotiable, despite the challenges the town is facing, stressing that there are better days ahead.
Other members of the new executives are the Vice Chairman, Surv. Aderemi Agbaje, General Secretary – Alhaji Iyanda Sikiru Bola, Asst. General Secretary – Mr. Raheem Isiaka Akorede, Financial Secretary – Mr. Akeem Oseni and Treasurer – Mr. Oyekole Mufutau.

Tijani Isiaka Solagbade, and Ex-officio – Salami Muftau.
