The Osogbo Progressive Union, OPU, and Osogbo Community on Thursday endorsed Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for a second term in office
Thousands of the indigenes of Osogbo who threw weight behind the reelection of Governor Oyetola at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, Osun State capital, said the town had been supportive of the progressives since the days of the late sage, late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
Speaking, the National President, Osogbo Progressives Union, Alhaji Kamorudeen Makinde commended the present government over unprecedented development across local government areas of the state.
He further stated that the present administration has spread love to the people of the state through the delivery of sound governance.
Makinde eulogized Governor Oyetola over the construction of the Iconic Olaiya Flyover which he said has given Osogbo a better befitting face among the other state capital.
According to him, “The Osogbo Progressives Union and Osogbo community as a whole, as it gives a rare opportunity to discuss with our dear people’s Governor on what Osogbo needs from this administration. Never in dispute, the fact that Osogbo had been supportive of the progressives since the days of the late sage, late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and has not derailed from this glorious footsteps up till the present time is a pride for us as Osogbo indigenes.
“Mr. Governor sir, while it is conceded that love of this government is spread all over the towns that make up the state, Osogbo (comprising both Osogbo and Olorunda Local Governments) has persistently demonstrated her much more love, affection, and loyalty to
the progressives’ fold through huge votes being always delivered to the progressives at elections inclusive of this current administration, especially in 2018. Osogbo has therefore never regretted such a noble course geared towards the collective development of everyone in giving necessary support to the ever-performing progressives.
“Mr. Governor, we appreciate among others the iconic Olaiya Flyover that has given Osogbo a better befitting face, intra and inter roads in Osogbo metropolis which have been fixed, and also our public health facilities being put in order.
“Of further attention is the recently commissioned 100-Bed-Mother & Child Hospital at Islahudeen, Oke Oniti, Osogbo, and many more. Achievements of this administration which are being appreciated include the creation of ultra-modern markets and so on in Osogbo” he added
Speaking, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola appreciated the indigene of Osogbo for the huge support given to his administration since its inception in office.
Oyetola assured the indigene of the ancient town of more infrastructure development if elected into office for the second term.
