As part efforts to actualise the emergence of the leading gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the forthcoming Osun governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji popularly called AMBO, the AMBO Movement has inaugurated women assembly across the 332 wards in the state.
This is just as the Chairman of AMBO Movement and immediate past Osun State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Honourable Timothy Owoeye asserted that Oyebamiji’s inimitable track records in both private and public sectors have been the driving force motivating both young and old since the launch of AMBO Movement.
Recall that since the official declaration of Oyebamiji’s intention to run for guber poll during his visit to the state party secretariat, few weeks ago, the AMBO’s mantra has become a household name in every nook and cranny of the state.
The AMBO Movement leadership had earlier inaugurated stakeholders, local, ward and unit coordinators across the state.
Inaugurating the Women Coordinators at Ilerioluwa Campaign, Office Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, Chairman, AMBO Movement, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, reaffirmed commitment to the emergence of Oyebamiji at the party’s primary and gubernatorial election in the state.
He commended the leadership quality and outstanding performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the last two years as well as the unprecedented development with which the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola had recorded since his appointment.
“We affirm our total support for the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that of our party leader in Osun and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola. We also affirm our solidarity and unflinching support to all our leaders in the state and national levels led by His Excellency, Dr. Umar Ganduje”, he added.
Owoeye who described the inauguration initiative as a child of necessity said the women assembly would be the interface between the people at the grassroots and AMBO Movement to ensure the emergence of Oyebamiji at the primary and gubernatorial election.
“We are here today to tell the whole world that APC is solidly on ground in Osun and to show that APC is the party to beat anytime anyday. So, we are here to inuagurate AMBO Women Assembly that will propagate AMBO Women in their respective wards and localities. As a matter of fact, there is no way one can remove the women’s role in politics. You can’t remove women participation in politics hence the effort to galvanize and mobilize them in actualizing the emergence of Oyebamiji.
“To us, one if the ways in which AMBO Movement can move like wildfire in hamathan is to handover this assignment to women which we are doing today. We believe that putting women together will help to continue to give support to AMBO to become the Governor of Osun in 2026. If you look at women participation in politics today is enormous and there is no way you can put them aside that is why we deemed it fit to inaugurate them for the assignment and we believe that with this initiative, the AMBO train is now moving faster in a geometric proportion than expected. We are confident that Oyebamiji will emerge victorious in the part’s primary and subsequently in the governorship election come 2026”, Owoeye affirmed.
The event has in attendance leaders of the All Progressives Congress which include: former Director General, Omisore Campaign Organisation in 2018 Osun gubernatorial election and ex-federal lawmaker, Hon. Bade Falade, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, former Osun State House of Assembly lawmakers; Hon. Abiodun Awolola, Hon. Festus Babatunde Komolafe, Hon. Ajibola Akinloye, Hon. Olasunkanmi Akinola Omotuntun, Hon Bosun Oyintiloye, Hon. Mulikat Abiola, Hon. Usamat Adebayo, Hon. Debo Akanbi, Hon. Istrael Aloba and Hon. Kamil Oyedele.
