A legal luminary and Osun based politician, Barrister John Abolarin Abidoye has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The politician submitted his resignation letter at the party Secretariat, ward 5 Aagba in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun state.

The Aagba born politician said he left the party because of the marginalisation of Aagba people in ward 5 Boripe Local Government by the immediate past government.

In his resignation letter dated December 5, 2022 a copy which was made available to journalists in Osogbo, yesterday, the former APC chieftain in Aagba town stated that the “reason for my resignation ranges from unresolved division and disunity in the party across the State; blanket delegation of political power by the former Governor to his beloved surrogate who brazenly and contemptuously used and abused same across the state, Boripe Local Government and Ward 05, Aagba in particular.

“This was to the extent of singlehanded removal of Ward 05 Chairman, Women Leader, imposition of Councillor and other office holders against the decision and consensus of Ward leaders; worst of all was the shortchange and denial of Aagba of Chairmanship slot after Ororuwo based on existing rotational arrangement despite the resolution of all the communities including the Obas; technical disbandment of Boripe North L.C.D.A. Elders Caucus; nepotic and maltreatment policies against Aagba in term of substantive political appointment and slots into teaching, civil service, O’ Meal and O’ Yes under the immediate past government including non attendance of single Aagba Day by any State representative in the last 12 years.

“For the above reasons and after extensive and due consultations with requisite leaders, stakeholders, my family members and supporters across the State, Boripe Local Government/L. C. D. A. and Ward 05, Aagba, I hereby resign and withdraw my membership from All Progressive Congress.

Please accept the assurance of my esteem regards.”
