Barely 15 days to the Osun governorship election, the Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdul-Wahab Kayode Oyedotun, has declared his support for the re-election of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, saying he has performed excellently well within the pace of three and a half years he has been running the affairs of the State.
The reverred monarch acknowledged the tremendous support of the progressive government for the people of Ila, saying it is worthy of note that ‘APC government has broken jinx of impossibility and eliminated curse of retrogression on Ila and the indigenes.
This is even as Governor Adegboyega Oyetola averred that God has manifested his re-election and revealed to him to continue to administer the affairs of the State for a second term, saying, ‘I have divine guidance to seek re-election and continue my good works.’
Orangun spoke in his palace while receiving Governor Oyetola and members of his re-election campaign council who were on a campaign to Ila Federal Constituency.
Oba Oyedotun acknowledged the socio-economic advancement and landmark developments the ancient town had witnessed under the progressive government, promising that they would reciprocate the good gesture by voting massively for Oyetola.
“The great things we have witnessed under the Progressives had never happened before. There’s no doubt in the fact that we have benefitted tremendously from the progressive government over the years.
“It is on record that APC government has broken the jinx of impossibility, eliminated curse of retrogression on Ila and as well placed us in our rightful position. If we are to start mentioning them, we will not leave this place, but the fact remains that this government has been very favourable to us.
“As we can see, it was this government that gave us the Federal University of Health, Nutrition and Medical Sciences that we have been agitating for a long time ago. Today, we are bold to say that Ila-Orangun plays host to the Federal University which was facilitated by the progressive government in the State.
“It is time for us to support Governor Oyetola and vote for him massively to ensure his re-election as a mark of honour to reciprocate his good gestures to our town. I want to urge you all to turn out in large number on the election day and vote for APC under which Governor Oyetola is seeking re-election.
“Please don’t disappoint me, don’t disappoint Chief Adebisi Akande, a former Governor of our state in whose honour most of the good things have been coming to the town.
“I want to assure Mr. Governor that he has my support and prayers and by the Grace of God, he will succeed because we all want him to continue his good works. So, you have my prayers, my support, just continue your good works. God will not forsake you. God will continue to strengthen you and give you resources to continue to do good things for the people of the State. After the election, we will come to celebrate your victory”, Orangun said.
Coroborating the gesture, Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin assured the Governor of the readiness of his subjects to vote for APC in the town.
“I know you very well. I can write a book on you. You have done creditably well. By the grace of God, you will emerge. We know what you have done,” he said.
In their separate remarks, Asaooni Adimula of Ora Igbomina, Oba Joshua Tinuoye Atolagbe, and Akesin of Ora Igbomina, Oba Samuel Olaoye Idowu, assured the Governor of their readiness to support him and implore their subjects to vote for him in the next governorship election in the State.
In his remarks, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola said God has revealed to him to continue to govern the state, hence, his resolve to seek re-election.
“We are here as usual. We were here before in the months past to seek your prayers and we are here again for your royal blessings. We know that Ila is known for the progressives and we seek your support and votes in the next governorship election in the State.
“As you all know, God has used us to transform the State within the limited resources accruable to us and we promise to do even more in our second term. I can assure you that what you have seen is just a tip of the iceberg. We shall do more by the grace of God”, Oyetola added.
In their separate remarks, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prince Gboyega Famodun, and the Director General, Oyetola Re-election Campaign Council, Dr. Ajibola Bashir, urged the people of the Federal Constituency to vote massively for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
