Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, the Chief of Staff to Osun state Governor has congratulated the newly elected executives of South West Zone of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, at the just concluded zonal Congress held at Emeritus Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, Ibadan, Oyo state, just as he tasked them on Purposeful Leadership that will bring unity to the party in the zone.

Akinleye stated this in a congratulatory message issued and signed personally signed and made available with newsmen in Osogbo on Wednesday.

Osun CoS described the congress as a clear demonstration of internal democracy, party maturity, and the readiness of the South-West PDP to reposition itself as a formidable political force.

The statement reads; “I extend my warmest congratulations to the newly elected South-West Zonal Executives of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Barr. Kamarudeen Ajisafe (Kosolowoe). Your emergence at the recently concluded zonal congress in Ibadan is a testament to the strength of our internal democracy, the resilience of our party structures, and the collective resolve of our leaders and delegates to reposition the PDP as a dominant force in the South-West.

“This successful congress is not just an electoral exercise—it is a bold step toward renewed unity, strategic rebuilding, and purposeful leadership within the region. I urge the new executives to embrace inclusivity, foster cohesion, and work assiduously to deepen the party’s grassroots engagement and strengthen its electoral appeal across all six states in the zone.

“Under the guidance of visionary leaders like His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, and His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the PDP in the South-West is poised for a political renaissance. I have no doubt that with focused leadership and collaborative effort, we will solidify our base and expand our influence ahead of future elections.

“Let this moment mark the beginning of a new chapter—one defined by unity, discipline, and strategic action. Together, we must chart a path forward that reflects the values, aspirations, and hopes of our people. The South-West PDP must rise as a beacon of progressive politics and good governance.

“Once again, I congratulate the newly elected zonal executives and wish them a successful and impactful tenure.”
