Osun State former deputy governor, Otunba Grace Titi Ponle-Tomori, has reacted to the attack by the Hoodlums on her residence in Osogbo, state capital and carted away properties.

Scores of irate youths have said looted and vandalized house of former deputy governor last Saturday.

The hoodlums carted away many home appliances, including electronics and musical instruments and other equipment worth millions on naira .

It was gathered that the former deputy governor was not at home when the hoodlums in their hundreds stormed her residence.

Ponle-Tomori’s domestic workers were said to have fled on sighting the protesters, carrying sticks, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons.

The politician’s police orderly who attempted to prevent the hoodlums from gaining entrance into the house was said to have been beaten to point of death.

Ponle-Tomori’s worship centre, where she prays, was also vandalized and looted.

They carted away a music keyboard, television sets, refrigerators, a projector from the worship centre.

The hoodlums also stole some gari processing machines, foodstuffs, including bags of gari and feeds for her fish ponds during the attack.

Meanwhile, Ponle-Tomori, in her reaction to the incident, said the looters need empathy and prayers for forgiveness.

Speaking on phone with journalist, she said: “Hunger drove them to loot. May God rehabilitate Nigeria. We felt pain for them and pray for them. It is sad that anyone could be wicked to attack my house under the guise of protest. I am not in any political position. I am not in government. Yes, I was a deputy governor but I did not steal any money. I wonder why the attack.

“During the COVID-19 lockdown in the state, I purchased food stuffs and other palliatives, which I distributed to the vulnerable in Osogbo, Olorunda, Orolu and Irepodun Federal constituency. I think they thought I would still be keeping some palliatives and I believe this might have attracted them to my house.”
