It would recall that the Osun food support scheme was initiated by the governor Oyetola in March 2021, that targeted at 30,000 vulnerable citizens across the State every month.
Olayemi called on mischief makers to desist from misinforming the public on the programmes of the present administration the Osun Food Support Scheme, tagged Ounje Ileri.
The group pledged optimum support to the present administration.
According to him, “We are group of local farmers and processors who are also indigenes of Osun state. We wish to state that our group appreciates the patronage we receive from the incumbent administration in Osun state as the initiative to patronize us remain unprecedented and historical in the history of our state.
“Since the government has started patronizing us to be among suppliers of Osun food support scheme, our businesses have not only grown geometrically, our income has also increased.
“The patronage has also created more jobs for teaming youths and women as processors while hundreds have gone back to farms. Transporters, local engineers (Grinders), nylon and wool dealers have also witnessed tremendous patronage. The implication of this gesture of our government and the Governor, is that more lives have been secured, more futures built and future calamities that can be caused by joblessness have been averted.
“We wish to sensitize members of the public that rice and garri remain in the same class of food i.e. carbohydrate. They are also the most popular staples in Nigeria today. So, distributing either of them is a matter of choice. However, distributing garri does not only provide for the needy but also helps the local producers and processors secure means of livelihood.
“We commend the efforts of the government and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for the gestures and we will continue to stand by him and give our optimum support to him at all times.
