Osun Guber: INEC Hands Over E-copy Of Voters Register To Political Parties

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has assured political parties that its doors are always opened for discussion with political parties.

The commission disclosed this through the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof AbdulGaniy Raji during the official handing over of E-copy of registered voters to political parties held in Osogbo,on Thursday.

Prof. Raji said the commission under his watch in Osun is fully prepared to conduct a free and fair governorship election come July 16.

He urged political parties not to embrace social media as forum to air their complains with INEC saying the commission’s doors are always opened to discuss issues of interest with them.

The REC handed over the E-copy of registered voters to the fifteen political parties that will be participating in Osun next month election.

Speaking on the total eligible voters expected to vote on the July 16 Osun election, Director Of Voter Registry, Engr Iron Gambo, said an improved figure of 1,955,657 from 1, 686,996 voters has been approved after those with double registration were delisted.

Assuring Osun electorate of an hitch free exercise he said the process of voting for the forthcoming election will be free of disenfranchising any duly registered voter.

Blaze newz gathered that Osun with the new increasement of polling units to 3,763 the new voters number is an improvement of 2018.

Also speaking, the chairman of Boot Party in Osun, Adeleke Masilo Aderemi lauded the commission for the new improvement in its giant stride for the conduction of elections.

He urged political parties to play along the rules and regulations in other to maintain free and fair elections in July 16.

In attendance at the program are members of the 15 registered political parties, security agencies, organizations of election observers among others.
