A 32-year-old land speculator, Abiodun Ibrahim has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over land fraud.
The accused person was arraigned on a four-count charge bordering on felony, false pretense and breach of peace.
The accused person allegedly committed the offence in December 2019 at Ayegbemi, Ota Efun area in Osogbo.
The prosecutor, Inspector Bose Shoyemi told the court that the accused person obtained the sum of N700,000 from one Amuda Okiki with the intention of giving her a plot of land, knowing fully well that it was false.
The prosecutor further said that the accused conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by selling a fake land to the complainant.
The offense committed contravenes and is punishable under Sections 249, 390, 382, 419, 516 Criminal Code CAP 34 vol 11 Law of Osun state 2002.
The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to the allegations leveled against him
Defense counsel T. S Adegboyega prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
In his ruling, Isola Omisade granted the accused person bail in the sum of N600,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned March 5, 2021 for ruling.
