A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Olusegun Jolaawo, has been installed as Baamofin of Otan-Ayegbaju in Boluwaduro Local Government, Osun State.
The Owa of Otan-Ayegbaju, Oba Lukman Fadipe, who conferred the chieftaincy title on Jolaawo, said the legal luminary was considered for his contribution to the development of the town.
Noting that Jolaawo, Partner, Head of Chambers, Rickey Tarfa & Co · Rickey Tarfa & Co, served meritoriously as the immediate past legal adviser of Otan-Ayegbaju Progressive Union (OAPU), the monarch said his commitment to the development of the town would not be forgotten.
“He has contributed greatly to the development of this town. He did not only make himself available, he spent heavily to support the developmental projects in our town.
“When many of his calibre have decided to stay away from home, Jolaawo presented himself for service to his father’s town.
“This recognition is well-deserved. If we recognise those who are trying their best, we believe that others who are running away will come,” the monarch said.
Responding to the gesture, Jolaawo expressed joy over the conferment of chieftaincy title on him and promised to do more to support Otan-Ayegbaju.
“I am not the only person in the town. I want to appreciate our monarch for considering me for this chieftaincy title. I see it as a push to do more and by the grace of God, I will put in my best to support the growth and development of the town,” Jolaawo said.
The President, Otan-Ayegbaju Progressive Union, Alh Hakeem Mosebolatan, appreciated the monarch for rewarding good deeds, noting that other people will be encouraged to put in their best.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of OAPU, Lateef Dada, Mosebolatan said, “if people are rewarded for doing good, others would be encouraged to do good.”
