The Network of NGOs in Osun State (NETNOS) has tasked the State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, to sustain his administration’s needs assessment strategies in policy formulation and project execution.

It added that such move would help the government in the state to entrench participatory democracy the more.

The network further lauded the governor on the pattern of need assessment study conducted at the beginning of his administration, which brought about some of the ongoing policy reforms in the state, as it harped on inclusive governance.

NETNOS, made this known through its State President, Comrade Ejalonibu Ezekiel, during a courtesy visit to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affair’s and Social Mobilisation, Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji, at Government Secretariat, Osogbo, the State Capital.

Ejalonibu said the beauty of democracy was for leaders to establish a systematic process for determining and addressing needs between the current conditions and desired conditions of the people.

He said, “ I must commend the Governor for his need assessment study in early 2019 and tour of the 9 federal constituencies, to really establish the need of the people of the state with the peculiarities of their various environments, this strategy must continue so that the people of the state will not be rule by proxy.

“The needs assessments will help the government to improve the quality of policy or programme decisions, thus leading to improvements in performance and the accomplishment of desired results by the government.”

Ejalonibu, therefore lauded Governor Oyetola for maximizing meagre resources of the state to advance infrastructural and human development, as well as assuring state government of necessary partnership and support to make life more abundant for the people.

The SSA to the Governor, Kehinde Ayantunji, while responding reiterated the commitment of Governor Oyetola to the public welfare and transparency in governance to make life comfortable for the greater number of the people in the state.

He said the programmes and policies of the governor centred mainly on the people’s aspirations and assured NETNOS of cordial working relationship with the government for sustainable peace and development.
