The chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu has charged the members of the association to engage themselves in physical exercise to improve their health status.
Comrade Ajadosu gave the charge on Wednesday, shortly after health walk exercise which was part of the lay down programme to mark 2022 NUJ week.
The members converged at Press Council , Osogbo , Osun state capital around 7am before they embarked on the health walk exercise through Technically High school, Riverside, Oke-Fia, Alekuwodo and later terminated with fitness exercise at the Press Council.
Ajadosu stressed that the essence of the health walk is to ensure that the members of the association remain healthy.
He stressed further that the excisice will assist members to fit while performing their responsibility.
According to him, “The essence of putting health walk among the programme of NUJ week is to educate our members on the need to always exercise their body to give room for good health and improve their health status.
‘Nobody should joke with his/her health and Journalism as a practice we hardly find time to check up our health so this kind of opportunity we have is that, we use this annual ritual to look at the state of our health, to give ourselves health talk and to give room for medical checkup.
“Our people should take the exercise as matter of priority either by themselves or group of people to improve their status.” he stressed
