Following the crisis in the different motor parks in Osogbo, Osun State capital recently, the National Union Of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, National Headquarters, (NHQ) has called on members to desist from attacking and assault on members in the state.
The union urged the factional group of the union led by Com. Nurudeen Alowonle to embrace peace and stay away from the garage pending the final resolution of the crisis as the new government of Senator Adeleke require total support of everybody.
The union called on the security agencies to arrest any member that involve in violence irrespective of the side of the faction they belong to in the interest of peace in the state.
In a statement jointly signed on Friday, by Comrade. Raymond Adeyemi, HOD Organisation NHQ Abuja, and Comrade. Olayioye Adesina, Zonal Secretary (Zone 2 Council) respectively, the union said that following the extensive deliberation between the Osun State Council and the aggrieved group organized by the National Headquarters, saying the union has resolved that the aggrieved parties led by Com. Nurudeen Alowonle should relinquish the chairmanship post for the NHQ recognized Alh. Rauf Fakorede till the next delegate conference.
The statement read in part; that the authorities of the union under the leadership of Alh. Tajudeen Baruwa is hereby offering Comrade. Nurudeen Alowonle the posts of Unit and Branch Chairman inclusive of his desired post at the state council level except the State Chairman and treasurer.
“That Comrade. Nurudeen Alowonle will report back the outcome of the tripartite meeting and resolutions to his followers for further engagement and report back in matters of days.
“That at the expiration of the lifespan of the present State Administrative Council (SAC) which is the next year delegate conference, Com. Nurudeen Alowonle is free and will be eminently qualified to contest for any post of his choice irrespective of the fact that he has been out of Union in the last twelve (12) years.
“That all the members associated with Comrade. Nurudeen Alowonle group will be accommodated in all the parks and garages in the thirty (30) Local Governments in the State.
“At this juncture, its worth mentioning that despite all these resolutions reached, Comrade. Alowonle Nurudeen and his cohorts has brazenly refuse to vacate the State Council been the legitimate property of the National Headquarters of the Union.
“We are appealing to all relevant parties mediating in this crisis to as a matter of urgency see to the quick resolution of the imbroglio.” It read.
