Osun State Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Aare Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa Asejere has declared that the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP in the state remains the party to beat at the poll.
The Commissioner made this declaration while answering questions from our Correspondent during a telephone chart.
Aare Asejere who condemned in totality as empty threats by the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, to take over the state, saying they do not have the political will to do what the PDP led administration has been doing in the entire state towards the welfare and betterment of the citizens.
“Efforts of the amiable and people’s Governor Ademola Adeleke in transforming Osun State cannot be over emphasised as the state is wearing a new look every day with the people oriented programmes.
“All the developmental works, infrastructure that we have done is there for everyone to see as we have also received so many ratings from the people who are to decide in terms of what we have been able to do” he said.
Amongst other infrastructures put in place, the Commissioner said, “Governor Adeleke’s led administration in Osun today has done a lot in the area of rural and community development, which includes rural electrification, welfare of the rural dwellers, traditional rulers, community leaders, the government has been able to pay salaries and pensions before the end of every month.
“The administration has supported people in the area of agriculture and setting up health insurance scheme for the people of the state as well as pensioners, less privileged and vulnerable among others.
“The incumbent administration in Osun in the area of infrastructure has fixed quite number of roads in order to ensure we have motorable roads across the state. Construction of boreholes in order to have drinkable water throughout the local governments in the state as well as construction of flyover at Oke-Fia, Lameco area, Lagere in Ile-Ife among other developmental people’s projects all over the state.
“In the area of economy, we have actually done well by diversifying our economy in the areas of agriculture and tourism as we have supported farmers with seedlings, loans, etc.
“Similarly, empowerment for the artist, associations, widows, vulnerable people, aged, traders as well as students among others”.
Aare Asejere however admonished the entire people of the state not to foment trouble but always be law abiding enjoined them not to be distracted, saying they should continue to demonstrate their unalloyed support to Governor Ademola Adeleke for him to return to the office during the coming election.
