The Senate spokesperson, Dr Ajibola Basiru Ajibola Bashiru has challenged that any group that may want to challenge Governor of Osun, Gboyega Oyetola in the contest should come over during primary election, if they have the capacity.

Senator Basiru said he would ensure that the Governor secure the ticket for the second term.

The Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District reiterated his support for the re-election of Gboyega Oyetola in the 2022 governorship eelection.

He made this on Monday while fielding questions from newsmen in his campaign office, Osogbo, state capital of Osun.

Basiru said Governor Oyetola has performed wonderfully well in the delivering of good governance insisted that if he is elected in the forthcoming gubernatorial election for another four years he will do more better.

While highlighting his successes in the last two and half years as a senator, he said all the constituency projects captured in the 2020 budget have been executed and delivered for the use of the people of Osun central.

He said through his office he dug boreholes, constructed blocks of classrooms ,some of his constituents were gainfully employed and he facilitated rehabilitation of road within his senatorial district.

He said as senator he was elected by the people of Osun Central to bring good governance to them in the area of quality legislation , human capacity development and social intervention.

Also speaking on the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons Bill, 2021, the Senator said it was already at committee stage and would scale through in a matter of weeks. “The bill is already at committee stage and I can say publicly that I am in support of the passage of the bill because it will help us to mop up small arms and all other unsavory equipment that are militating against security in the country.

“I believe that in a matter of weeks the bill should be able to see the light of the day” the Senator added.
