The President of the Renewed Hope Initiative and Nigeria First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has empowered 1000 residents of Osun state under the initiative economic empowerment scheme.
Speaking at the launching of the renewed hope initiative in Osogbo, Osun state capital on Friday, Tinubu said she did not came to Osun because of the politics but to help the citizens of the state.
She said that the initiative has empowered women and young men who want to go into small scale businesses.
According to her, “Today, we’ll conduct a symbolic presentation and hand over items to some beneficiaries, which they will use in their future shops.
“This is to empower some of our women and young men who want to start small-scale businesses. First Lady has received these items and will select approximately 1,000 women to receive them.
“They will each receive a small portion to get started, along with a sum of N50,000. A total of 50 million Naira has already been deposited, and the First Lady will distribute it judiciously.
On the 17th, we have the Elderly Support Program, ‘Renewed Hope,’ which will be implemented nationwide to empower our elderly citizens aged 65 and above.
We are providing 250 of them with 200,000 each. Furthermore, when I discussed this with the governor, he graciously offered to match the funds, resulting in an additional 250 elderly beneficiaries, making a total of 500 for Christmas.
