Residents of Kelebe area of Osogbo, Olorunda Local Government Area, Osun State, were on Monday thrown into mourning when a car allegedly plowed into a motorcycle and killed two out of the four persons who were on the bike.
The accident involved a Honda Odyssey car, with registration number ABJ 117 LT who lost control and hit an oncoming motorcycle carrying three passengers.
It was gathered that the accident involved a family of four, consisting of husband, wife and two children who were on a motorcycle.
It was gathered that the woman, identified as Mrs Mariam Ogundipe and one child died on the spot, while the father and the other child have been rushed to Omogbolahan Specialist Hospital.
Reacting, the Osun State command Police Public Relations officer, SP Yemisi Opalola ,confirmed the incident, said the corpse of the deceased has been withdrawn from hospital for burial according to Islamic rite.
Opaloola further said the driver of the car was rescued by policemen of Iludun division adding that the two vehicles have been handed over to state traffic department for further investigation.
