Honorable Adegboyega Adelabu Aremo, the Special Adviser to Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Youths and Sports, had distributed school uniforms to Pupils in Osogbo.
Oyetola’s aide who is also a founder of “Aremo Foundation” distributed schools uniforms among pupils of L A Primary School, Gbonmi, St Andrew Primary School, Oke Bale and AUD Primary School, Isale Agbara, Osogbo to ensure that they appear in their newly approved wears.
Many parents and guidance were in a joyous mood as they received free school uniforms for their children.
However, Aremo also distributed clothing materials to about fifty women, soaps, hand sanitizers, pens to teachers just as he dolled out cash to no fewer than 20 Ilerioluwa Coordinators across the council.
The SA Youths and Sports while speaking at the event which took place at LA Primary School playing ground said that the gesture was to complement the effort of the state Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola in his bid to provide qualitative education in the state
Aremo who said it is essential to play a role in reducing the burden on parents and guardians to get the new school uniforms and writing materials said whatever they do, they do it to complement the effort of Governor of the state.
Aremo who is an old student of LA Primary School recalled the day he came to collect his Primary school leaving certificate in the school and how some pupils of the school dressed tattered, hence the need for him to distribute the free school uniforms to the pupils.
He said education was pivotal to the development process of any community.
“Coming to LA Primary school today to distribute uniforms to pupils of L A Primary School, Gbonmi, St Andrew Primary School, Oke Bale and AUD Primary School, Isale Agbara, is part of my believe that children are the greatest assets any society can possess.
“To achieve a brighter future, we have to pay attention to the progress of our children.This is just a tip of the iceberg; I am still going to do this in Olorunda, Ifon-Olorun and across the state.
“I started the free distribution here because this is my alma mater and it occurred to me sometimes when I came to collect my Primary school certificate, I saw many pupils in a tartar dresses and I need to intervene.
“We are doing this to complement the effort of our amiable Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola who is very passionate about the development of the state and how to ensure that every children of the state has access to qualitative education.
“we want to urge the people of the state to continue to support the Governor to rule the state beyond 2022 so as to be able to take the state to the promised land.
The SA youths and Sports implored the students to face their studies, describing them as the leaders of tomorrow and future leaders of a greater Nigeria.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary of Aremo Foundation, Olori Aderonke Adelabu, Aremo Foundation said the foundation was established to cater for children and women in the society.
She said they would continue to give back to the society through their foundation. She however urged women in the state to continue to support Governor Gboyega Oyetola administration.
Olori Aderonke said, many parents might not be to afford many materials needed by these pupils and supporting them will lessen the burden.
“Education is the power you need. Education will make you a better of yourself in the future. Face your studies in class and listen to the instructions of your teachers. Giving back to our community is a privilege and a thing of joy. Distributing school uniforms is a way to help parents and guardians who might find it difficult to afford it.”
“As we all know, 2020 has been a challenging year. We should all strive to help our neighbours. These kids are the future of tomorrow, therefore, we must prioritize their education.” she concluded.
The wife of the Governor, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola who was represented by the wife of the Deputy Governor Mrs Olufunke Alabi enjoined the pupils to face their studies and shun anything capable of tarnishing the image of their parents..
Speaking on behalf of teachers, Mrs C. I Orafisayo appreciated the SA for the kind gestures urging other political office holders to emulate Aremo.
