The Mass Communication Alumni, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree ,MAOS, Osun chapter has honored Hon Bukola Oyewo, who is the representative of Osogbo federal constituency, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Social Mobilization and Students Affairs, Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji with award of excellence.
Others are; Adeniyi Akinromade media aide to Osun deputy governor, Benedict Alabi and Osun MAOS chapter coordinator, Sanusi Olayemi.
Commending the association , Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji and Adeniyi Akinromade said they are proud to be members of the association and delighted to be honoured with an award.
The duo pledged their continual support for the association at all time their services are needed.
Speaking, the president, Comrade Jide Afolabi said the core aim and objective of MAOS is networking, socialisation and welfare support to members.
Comrade Afolabi who was represented by the national Vice President Comr. Folorunso Oluwatobi at the join together program held at Osun NUJ Press council In Osogbo, on Sunday.
According to him, “As your servant in almost two years that you have elected us, through your support, we have moved MAOS further from where it was before we came on board. Today, we have created more Chapter’s; inaugurated branches and strengthened the existing ones.
“We have improved the image of your Association, MAOS, on the world stage through the creation of a user-friendly website – www.maos.com.ng. We urge you to patronise this site as we promise to keep on improving it.
“Year 2020 has been quite challenging for individuals, households, corporate bodies and governments across the globe. There have been disruptions to businesses and supply chain owing to the deadly pandemic, COVID-19.
“Having recognised the monumental effects of the pandemic on the economy, MAOS through the support of our Diaspora Chapter provided palliatives to all our Chapter’s to cushion the effect of the pandemic on our members. We are deeply grateful to our Diaspora members for their support.
“Going forward, we still have a lot to do and a lot more to achieve together. We seek your support both morally and financially. Please, let us pay our Annual Due and donate generously to support the family that we all love and cherish.
In a similar vein, Osun State MAOS chapter coordinator, Sanusi Olayemi charged all graduates from mass communication department of Osun State Polytechnic Iree to start partaking in the association activities, meeting because of benefit they can derive.
He said, “those who have not be coming are yet to know the purpose and the benefit they can derive from this association, if they come today they will realize that their determination to join is long over due anyone who have joined over the years know that this an association to identify with”
Earlier, Mr Aderemi Adeagbo ,lecturer in the department of Osun poly ,who is also a member of the association advised the executives to do more publicity that will create awareness for those who have not be coming to the association.
Adeagbo commended leadership of the association for its networking and connectivity, urging members to come together to move MAOS forward.
“MAOS is doing its best to give back to the school. We donated text books to the department and award has been presented to the best graduating student from all the level. But the last year set couldn’t do that because of Covid-19 pandemic. he added
