The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Social Mobilisation and Students’ Affairs, Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji, has said that the Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, is committed to youth development programmes that will place Osun youths in frontline position for economic and political prospects of the state.
He said the focus of the governor is to instil economical and political conciousness in the youths, for the purpose of making majority of the youths productive and responsible to the society.
Ayantunji said this during a live radio programme on Uniq FM on Wednesday morning, monitored by our reporter in Osogbo, the state capital, to mark the International Youth Day Day.
According to him, the governor valued the youths which informed his substantial inclusion of youths in his administration and striving hard to make life more abundant for youths through his programmes and policies.
While speaking on Osun government efforts in eradicating youth unemployment in the state, he said,” as much as I agree that there is a lot of grounds to cover in Nigeria in terms of poverty eradication and youth unemployment, it is important to state clearly that Osun is among the leading state with the lowest poverty and employment rate, this is not by accident it was a result of efforts of Governor Gboyega Oyetola financial ingenuity, prudent management of resources and passion for economic posterity of the state.
He said :”The vision of governor Oyetola is to develop fast majority of youths with gainful employment, leadership skills, and sense of responsibility to the state. During his campaign, he openly and privately demonstrated his passion through several engagements, which still continue up till date, perhaps, he is the most accessible governor to youths and students in the state. The records are are their and very clear.
“Governor Oyetola is so passionate about development of the state and I am appealing to the youths and students in the state to support the administration to secure a better future for the state.”
The SSA explained that through the last Economic Summit held last year Novembr in the state, Oyetola is working hard on five areas to reduce youth unmployment in the state, which includes Mining, Agriculture, Information and Communication Technology, Vocational Skills, and Tourism.”
He urged the youths in the state to strive hard in acquiring necessary needed skills for the available employment oppurtunities in the state.
