The Oyo state government has converted 1,591 ad hoc local council workers across the state into permanent staff, an official said on Saturday in Ibadan.
The state’s commissioner for information and civic orientation, Dotun Oyelade, disclosed in a statement that this was in view of Gov. Seyi Makinde’s approval in October.
“The governor had approved the conversion of the ad hoc staff in the service of the 33 councils in the state.
“This was to bridge the gap in the workforce at the local government level, and due process was followed during the conversion exercise.”
Mr Oyelade added that those in this regard were to collect their appointment letters at the Local Government Service Commission between Monday and Thursday.
