The National Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria (NAPTAN) has elected Professor Boniface Odeh as its new President.

Prof. Odeh’s emergence has been hailed as a perfect fit, given his impressive credentials as a distinguished educator from a reputable institution.

Prof. Odeh took over the leadership after a 20-year reign of former National President Alhaji Haruna Danjuma from Kaduna State.

Prof. Odeh, a Professor of Industrial and Labour Education was elected by Majority Vote on 22nd of May 2025, held at the Senior Secondary Schools Commission in Abuja, under the Security presence of the Nigeria Police, an Attorney-At-Law and other Education Stakeholders.

The new National President, Prof. Odeh new leadership vowed to foster synergy with Governments and uphold Policies and Programmes that promote Educational growth in Nigeria.

According to Fadare Akinlolu Moshood, National Publicity Secretary of NAPTAN, Professor Odeh aims to ensure the association’s effectiveness across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

“NAPTAN will collaborate with Governments to address critical issues like Exam malpractice, Cultism, Teacher truancy, check JAMB, WAEC, NABTEB and NECO deficiencies. Additionally, we’ll build strong relationships with Educational Agencies, Departments, Parastatals and other relevant establishments and organizations to drive progress in the sector.

“Professor Odeh’s coming on board as the new NAPTAN President is a round peg in a round hole with his pedigree as an erudite educator from citadel of learning. His tenure would be a departure from the sit tight syndrome of his predecessors and would be a pivot for the progress of the Association as the voice of the people is believed to be the voice of God.
