The Concerned Erinmo-Ijesa Indigenes, CEI, home and abroad have called on the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Osun State Emergency Management Agency, OSEMA and Governor Ademola Adeleke to provide immediate relief materials to the affected victims of the torrential rains that wreck havoc in the ancient town on February 8, 2025.

According to the affected Indigenes in their press statement issued and made available to newsmen on Wednesday by the Convener, Elder Joshua Ayanleye Makinde, “We are calling for urgent intervention by the agencies mentioned above in order to prevent more severe flooding of the areas, as more rains are expected in days to come.

“We want the agencies to urgently respond to the needs of the affected rain victims in our town as the damages of the disaster then still remains as it was since as nobody has come to the aid of the people who are in need of emergency assistance as the magnitude of the disaster requires immediate assistance from both the Federal and State Governments even philanthropist and individual”.

Recall that the representatives of both the NEMA and OSEMA had visited the affected areas of the rain disaster in the town recently to register their sympathy, still the people were still expecting the positive outcome of the official visit by the teams as they say that, “A stich in time saves nine”.

“The flood victims are calling for government’s urgent intervention to address their plight, although we thanks the Almighty that there have been no reported deaths but the destruction of properties have turned many home owners into tenants which, exacerbating their plight” the Indigenes lamented.

The group however enjoined Governor Ademola Adeleke to wade in.
