The Lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, Ejigbo federal constituency, Rep. Bamidele Salam has advised young entrepreneurs to be deliberate in their quest to succeed in their various endeavours, both in the formal and informal sectors of the economy.
Salam made the call while presenting a cash cheque of thirty million nairas to selected 105 youths who participated in the Bootcamp earlier organised for young business owners in the federal constituency.
The cash grant distributed in categories of business plans put forward by the young constituents during the boot camp saw the majority of the beneficiaries going home with cash grants of five hundred thousand nairas (N500,000)each.
Other categories of beneficiaries also enjoyed handsome grants ranging from N300,000 to 100,000, each, with some having both cash grants and essential equipment supports, depending on the type and capital requirements of such businesses.
Some of the essential equipment purchased for young CEOs are laptops and photocopy machines for ICT-related businesses, industrial sewing machines for fashion designers, shoe-making machines for cobblers, deep freezers for frozen food enterprises among others.
Rep Bamidele Salam, while informing the beneficiaries of his preparedness to set up a monitoring team to ensure compliance with his vision to raise the living standard of youths in the federal constituency, also emphasized the need for them to be determined for success in their chosen careers.
The beneficiaries who could not hide their joy, expressed profound appreciation for the gesture of the lawmaker, who they described as a rare breed among crops of politicians, especially those with similar privilege in the past as federal lawmakers in the federal constituency
They also expressed readiness to ensure judicious use of the grants, which according to them, came as timely stimulants for their businesses.
The event was witnessed by the Honorable Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Hon Maruff Ayofe; Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon Moshood Olagunju; and the Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Hon George Alabi. They all commended Rep Salam for his untiring efforts in assisting the constituents, particularly the youths
Other dignitaries at the event also include the PDP leader in the constituency, Elder Sunday Akanfe Atidade; PDP Chairmen in the federal constituency; the coordinator, Ajoje Micro Credit Scheme designed for women in the federal constituency by the Lawmaker, Mrs. Bola Olayiwola amongst other important personalities.
