Vice Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) and Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has urged INEC to reshape its image with the gubernatorial and house of assembly election as it has already created doubts in the heart of Nigerians after the February 25 national assembly election.

Okowa gave the charge after casting his votes at Owa-Alero, Ward 2, Polling Unit 17, Eghoma Primary School in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta at about 9:45 am.

“There are challenges with the electoral process based on February 25 elections because the whole world including Nigerians that there was going to be the transmission of results by the Electoral Act. Unfortunately, INEC said their servers got bad on the morning of the elections and they could not transmit the results.

“I hope that NAC can stay transparent for people to have confidence in them but in the Presidential elections, it was no doubt that the majority of Nigerians do not have confidence in that process.

“It was a process in which a very important aspect of the Electoral Act was ignored which led to the manipulations that we all suspect took place in the course of that election process” he asserted

Expressed satisfaction over the peaceful voting exercise Okowa urged Nigerians to shun voters’ apathy as a good response to the poor outing of INEC in Presidential Elections.

According to Okowa, “The best reaction is to come out to cast and defend your votes. You cannot see something going wrong and allow it to continue, you must take the bull by the horn”.
