The Russian Open Doors Scholarship returns for its seventh edition in 2025, providing international students with the opportunity to study at top Russian universities without the burden of tuition fees.

Based on Fully-Funded Scholarships’ reports, this scholarship supports various academic programs, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, and Postdoctoral studies, ensuring that students at different levels can benefit.

What To Know
The Open Doors project, backed by Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education, offers significant financial support to students. Key features include:

Free Tuition: Recipients will not pay any admission or tuition fees at participating universities.

Monthly Stipend: A stipend is provided to help cover living expenses during the study period.

Access to Diverse Programs: Students can study in fields such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, engineering, and international studies.
While the scholarship covers tuition and offers a stipend, it does not include accommodation costs.

However, Fully-Funded Scholarships reports that affordable dormitory options are available for international students at Russian universities.

Eligibility Criteria

Students aiming for Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or Postdoctoral programs can apply if they meet the following criteria:

Educational Background: Applicants must possess the necessary degree for the level they seek (e.g., a bachelor’s degree for Master’s candidates).

Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English or Russian is required.

Documentation: All required documents must be submitted, including transcripts, proof of degrees, and other academic records.
There are no restrictions related to nationality, race, or gender, making this a truly inclusive opportunity for students worldwide.

Application Process and Deadlines
To apply for the scholarship, candidates should follow these steps:

1. Register Online: Create an account on the official Open Doors portal.

2. Submit Your Portfolio: Fill in academic details and upload relevant documents, such as certificates and awards.

3. Take the Olympiad Test: Applicants will compete in an academic Olympiad to demonstrate their expertise.

4. Choose Universities: Select between 1 and 6 participating universities based on academic interests.

Important deadlines for applications are:

Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs: Apply by November 20, 2024.

Postdoctoral programs: Apply by December 10, 2024.

Ground rents debt: Asokoro, Maitama to pay N3.1bn to FCTA, FCTA staff sit for exams, Ishola Michael - Bauchi North-Eastern district of NRC commences 5km passengers, students train shuttle in Bauchi In its gradual reintroduction of train passengers shuttle in the ongoing revamping of the rail sector, North-Eastern District of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) on Monday test run a five kilometer rail shuttle from Bauchi to Inkil along the Bauchi-Gombe rail line mainly for passengers and students on excursion on the line. The disclosure was made by the Railway District Manager of NRC, Mr Aliyu Mainasara, during the unveiling of the rail line services in Bauchi during which the RDM, management team and passengers were conveyed from the Bauchi station to Inkil Community and back to the main station in Bauchi. While speaking at the occasion, Aliyu Mainasara pointed out that the Services will run from Monday to Saturday three times in a day with a token of N200 per trip from Bauchi station to Inkil Community stressing that each trip will be accompanied by security personnel to protect passengers and their belongings. According to him, "The train has the capacity of conveying between 70 to 100 passengers with comforting facilities on each trip". The RDM however said that full services will commence on Monday, September 5, 2022 with daily and monthly schedules saying that the North-Eastern district had not run a single train in the last seven years due to challenges posed by insecurity and vandalization of its tracks . The RDM stressed that, "The initiative will accord the citizens and children to test the rail services because there are people who don't have experience of rail services. With this, the children from schools would go for an excursion from Bauchi station to Inkil Community that is five kilometers from Bauchi station". He then assured that, "By the end of this year, we will extend the services to Alkaleri local government area of the state up to Gombe state respectively" . He also said that Engineers in the District are working on the tracks for the expansion of the scope of services to the Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state saying that, “The moment we fixed the tracks up to Alkaleri, believe me, we will start to run our trains as well as Gombe in the District".
